The core businesses of the division are property development, property investment and asset management. It has operations in five countries namely Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Australia and the United Kingdom. Sime Darby Property has received numerous Malaysian and international accolades in various categories, including being the first Malaysian property developer to be awarded the International FIABCI Prix d’Excellence Awards twice for its Subang Jaya and UEP Subang Jaya townships. Over the years, Sime Darby Property has built 10 townships with 85,000 homes and about 425,000 residents in the Klang Valley and Negeri Sembilan in Malaysia, namely Ara Damansara, Subang Jaya, USJ Heights, Putra Heights, Bukit Jelutong, Bandar Bukit Raja, Denai Alam, Melawati, Nilai Impian and Planters’ Haven. Sime Darby Property owns and manages assets in various countries including Malaysia, Singapore and the United Kingdom, and also manages buildings owned by the Sime Darby Group. Additionally, it is also responsible for tenancy and maintenance of various types of properties, commercial assets of high rise and low rise buildings as well as shop offices, residential and industrial properties, staff holiday bungalows and sporting facilities such as the Sime Darby Sports Complex located in Klang. In July 2012, Sime Darby Property, S P Setia and the Malaysian Employee’s Provident Fund (EPF) entered into a joint venture agreement to redevelop London’s iconic Battersea Power Station. The project will see the creation of 3,500 new homes, shops, cafes, restaurants and offices, set amidst a 6 acre riverside park, while the Grade II heritage listed Power Station will be renovated and rebuilt. The estimated Gross Development Value (GDV) for the project is close to £8.0 billion and is expected to take between 10-12 years. Amongst the prominent high rise office buildings in Malaysia managed by Sime Darby Property are Wisma Sime Darby, Wisma Guthrie, Sime Darby Pavilion and the 168,800 sq ft headquarters of Sime Darby Property Division at Oasis Square in Ara Damansara. Sime Darby Property operates several of Malaysia’s leading hospitality and recreational centres such as PNB Darby Park Executive Suites, Sime Darby Convention Centre (SDCC) and the prestigious Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC). Sime Darby Property’s hospitality operations outside Malaysia include Darby Park Executive Suites in Singapore; Karri Valley Resort, Darby Park Serviced Residences – Subiaco and Darby Park Serviced Residences – Margaret River in Australia; as well as Rangdong Orange Court Serviced Apartments in Vietnam.
