PARKING
REGULATIONS FOR HORSE SECTION
Every nomination or entry of a horse to compete at the Show shall be
made on the express stipulation and condition that the use of the arena
for any purpose whatsoever, shall be entirely at the risk of the owner or
trainer of the horse or other person using the arena.
2. Membership of the Westbury Agricultural Society Inc is
compulsory for all competitors
3. This show is affiliated with Equestrian Australia, and the Show Horse
Council of Tasmania. Saddle classes are conducted under EA and
SHCT Rules. Showjumping is conducted under EA rules. All horses
competing in Official Jumping classes must be EA registered and ridden
by EA members. Riding, Led and Hunter events do not come under EA
jurisdiction.
4. As per SHC Rule No 3.29 – Once a horse has competed at a
Hack/Saddle Horse or a Show Hunter at its first SHC competition in a
calendar year it must remain as a Hack/Saddle Horse or a Show Hunter
at SHC competitions for that calendar year.
5. Performance cards for all registered horses MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR
SCRUTINY at all times. The relevant performance card may be
scrutinised upon entry into the ring, before presentation of prizes, or at
any other time.
All mounts in Saddle and Riding Classes to be mares or geldings.
Definition of Novice: All horses (or in the case of Riding Classes,
riders) which have won any Open Saddle (Rider) Class competing
singly at an Agricultural Show or Gymkhana, with the exception of a
consolation class are not considered to be novice. Competitors may win
three Novice Classes before proceeding to Open Class.
6. Protests: A sub-committee elected by the general committee will deal
with all complaints and protests. In events held under EA rules, the EA
representative present on the day will adjudicate.
7. The committee has the right to refuse any nomination without appeal.
Due to the large programme the committee reserves the right to alter or
delete any event.
8. CAMPING: There will be no camping or yarding of horses overnight on
the main arena. Camping will be permitted in the stable area. Horse
yards must be CLEANED and vacated by 7am.
9. Removal of horse manure and feed is expected of all competitors and
horses are not to be tied so that they are standing on the trotting track.
10. DOGS MUST BE ON LEADS

GENERAL PUBLIC main carpark near the railway lines, paddock
adjacent to Showgrounds in Marriott St and in surrounding streets.
HORSE EXHIBITORS
Removal of horse manure, feed etc is expected of all competitors.
Floats and hacking exhibitors enter off Lyttleton St and park adjacent
to the trotting track under the direction of Parking Attendants. Once
this area is full exhibitors will be directed to the overflow parking in a
paddock adjacent to the Showgrounds, enter from Lyttleton St.
Showjumper trucks and goosenecks enter off Marriott St and park
on southern end of arena under the direction of Parking Attendants.
Stockhorse exhibitors enter off Lyttleton St. and park in area near
horse yards and stables.
Hunt Club exhibitors and overflow parking will be available this year
in a paddock adjacent to the Showgrounds, enter from Lyttleton St.
The landowner has requested that strictly NO HAY is to be fed in this
area and all MANURE to be removed.
Protests must be made within an hour of the happening which gives
rise to the protest. All protests are to be made in writing and given to
the Secretary before 4.00pm on the day of the Show, with a deposit of
$20 as a guarantee of good faith, but which shall be returned if the
protest is upheld.

To be conducted by the Westbury Show in conjunction with the NORTHERN HUNT CLUB. Horses need not be registered with the EA. Westbury Show ruling
requires that horses may compete in either Class 3 or Class 4 but not both.
Qualifications: All riders to be current financial members of a recognised Hunt Club. Horses and riders to have participated together in 3 hunts in current year, not
necessarily together.
ENTRIES CLOSE MONDAY 27th OCTOBER 2014 using the WESTBURY AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY Inc. HORSE SECTION ENTRY FORM.

The challenge is open to ASHS members and registered horses.
The challenge will include a junior section for riders under 18 years old.
Prizes - Prize money for the senior section will be 80 per cent of entry fees -divided
between 1st, 2nd and 3rd. plus sashes.
Juniors will receive a sash and prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

$6.00 per Exhibit for State Bred & Owned. Challenge: $20 Seniors, $10

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:








All horses entered must be registered and owned by a financial member of the Australian Stock Horse Society and entered
under the financial owners name.
Registration Certificates are to be made available on request.
The Committee will hold no responsibility for accident, damage or injury to any spectator, rider or horse either on or off the
ground.
The committee reserves the right to ban any animal or rider they think unfit to compete.
All protests to be lodged with the secretary including $50.00 ($50.00 non-refundable).
The judge’s decision is final.
No classes will be held up. The Committee Reserves the right to combine classes with insufficient entries.
Stallions to be handled and ridden by adults, (18 years and over), MUST be double tied when not attended.
