Passion for the Olympics
Straight out of college, Mitts played for Tampa Bay Extreme of W-League in 2000 while waiting for the
launch of the new Women’s United Soccer Association league. In 2001, Mitts was drafted to the Philadelphia
Charge where she appeared in 20 games in the inaugural season.
Personal
Heather is known for her athletic ability and her looks, and as a result, has delved into the world of
modeling. She has parlayed her looks into multiple television commentary jobs. She co-hosted “The Tailgate
Show” which aired before/after Philadelphia Eagles, football games. She could also be spotted as a sports
reporter/anchor on the NBC affiliate WCAU in Philly. She was an In studio analyst for NBC and ESPN’s
coverage of the 2003 Women’s World Cup and did sideline reporting for MLS games as well as College
football games aired on ESPN.

“My Olympic dream began when I was a little kid. I think every kid watches the Olympics and hopes to one
day be there. I remember watching Jackie Joyner-Kersee and even though I'm not a track star, I just
remember how phenomenal she was. And how inspirational she was and I hoped to one day be there.”
