This summer, the New Horizon Christian Church, in partnership with the Weld Food Bank, is
sponsoring a Food 4 Kids Café. Drop by Monday through Friday between 11:30 a.m.
and 1:00 p.m. and get a free lunch. This offer is available only to kids 18 years and
younger. The Food 4 Kids Café lunch will be available all summer long until August 15th.
The New Horizon Christian Church is located at 530 Cherry Street in Dacono. Don’t forget
about Wednesday Rewards (part of Dacono Library Summer
Reading Program) at the New Horizon Christian Church from
11:30-1:00 p.m. This is a free drop in program and children under 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult, older sibling,

The Dacono Economic Development Committee launched
its extreme adventure campaign in May. The purpose of
the campaign is to create awareness of Dacono’s four
extreme sports venues, (Colorado National Speedway,
Blitz Paintball, BMX, and IMI Motorsports), to promote
Dacono as a local option for family fun, direct visitors to
other local businesses, and remind residents of their local
entertainment options. The campaign kicked-off in the
May edition of Yellow Scene magazine and focuses on the
“we’ve got dirt” and “epic adventure” campaign. The
City hopes generate interest from other businesses to locate to the City such as hotels
and restaurants. “We hope to capture additional sales tax dollars by keeping folks who
go to the races or play in a paintball tournament around to eat dinner, buy gas, and
stay overnight”, said Mayor Charles Sigman. The marketing program also includes creation of a brochure, online advertising, and event marketing at area festivals throughout
the summer.







Effective August 1, SAFEbuilt will begin providing building inspection and related services for the City of Dacono. Residents and contractors will continue to apply and pay
for building permits through the City of Dacono at City Hall. Inspections called in before 4:00 p.m. will occur the next business day. The plan review schedule will also be
faster. In transitioning to SAFEbuilt, the City will update its electrical code to the 2011
NEC as well as update the building valuation schedule as published by the International
Code Council annually. “I am confident citizens will really benefit from the improvements in the level of customer service we will be able to provide”, said City Administrator AJ Euckert. The city will continue to annually offers its, Almost Free Building Permit
Month program. Barry Kramer, certified building official, will serve as the primary
building official for the City. SAFEbuilt will also make an annual $250 donation to the
City of Dacono Scholarship fund. SAFEbuilt currently provides building department services to such communities as the Town of Firestone, Windsor, and Loveland. SAFEbuilt
has been providing building inspections, plan review, administrative, permitting and
related services to public agencies since 1992.
