It’s great to see each of you today. I’m so
glad you are here. This morning we conclude
our look at the hero Gideon. In Judges 7,
the battle plan that the Lord gave Gideon to
defeat the Midianites is one of the unusual
battle strategies in Scripture. These 300
men were to go into battle against an army
of 135,000 using only trumpets, clay pots,
and little torches! Certainly, they would have
hoped for a spear or sword, but the Lord knew better.
Gideon's troops were positioned around the enemy, and
when Gideon sounded his trumpet, his troops sounded
theirs. He smashed his clay pot, and they smashed theirs.
Gideon held up his light, and they held up theirs. And they
shouted, “The sword of the Lord and of Gideon!” (Judges
7:20). The Midianites were startled out of their minds, and
ran for their lives!
Now let’s think about it. What did Gideon’s men actually
do? They did nothing but watch God bring the victory. This
battle against all odds was won entirely by faith! And in the
same way, God has given you powerful weapons to win
victories of faith. 2 Corinthians 10:4 says “For the weapons
of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power...”
Friend, the next time the enemy threatens, do this: Sound
the trumpet of your testimony, stay broken before God like
that clay pot, shine His light, shout for the Lord, and watch
God bring the victory!

CONNECTING WITH US
According to God’s Word, being a part of a church family is important.
You can belong to the Trinity family in a couple of ways:
»BY PROFESSION OF FAITH AND BAPTISM – for those who have received
Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and followed Him in baptism.
»BY LETTER OR STATEMENT – for those who have made a profession of
faith, been scripturally baptized in another church, and now desire to
unite in membership with our church family.
At the close of each worship service, Pastor James will extend an
invitation for anyone who would like to become part of the Trinity
family, as well as the family of God. Our pastors will be standing down
front to receive and assist you. Simply walk to one of the pastors and tell
him you want to join Trinity.
