A WORD FROM ANDREW
I love looking around at the rich tapestry we are weaving, together. Our worship arts
ministry is and has always produced such excellence, Soli Deo Gloria. One group that
has continued to work hard and excel in the arts is our Handbell Choir. Recently, as I
listened to them lead us in the worship service, I realized how entwined they are in the
fabric of music - from music education all the way to the realization of one of the
highest forms of exposed preparation. By that, I’m saying that their hard work pays off
in moments. When the bells all strike at the same moment, it - is - amazing! The hours
and hours of fellowship and practice are evident. Furthermore, it happens beat, after
beat, after beat.
Step back with me. What if all our ministries and committees could echo the
excellence of our Handbell Choir? There would be hours of preparation and practice to
make sure that we are in perfect sync. We would know each other well—how each
person sounds when they laugh and cry. We could serve each other more
accurately. Next time you are in your committee meeting, pretend you are the
handbell choir. Pretend that what you say and do matters immensely to the others in
the room… because it actually does! My heart is overwhelmed with gratitude because
of the lessons I learn while listening to the bells ring. Thank you, Royce, for your steady
hand and attention to those you serve. Thank you, ringers, for your desire for beautiful
music. Crievewood loves you!

Theme: Showing What Love Is!
Tennessee Baptist Adult Homes provide loving care for senior adults and
adults with intellectual disabilities. Every day men and women are serving in
these homes and facilities showing what love is! These are funded by our
Convention and the “Father’s Day Offering”. Two week long camps for these
adults are also provided each summer, in which some Crievewood youth serve
as counselors. Let’s support this important ministry with our gifts, headed by
Mark Anderson, President/Treasurer.
