KENYA FAMILY SAFARI - 9 DAYS / 8 NIGHTS This specially designed safari for families offers a wide range of different areas of Kenya with a variety of accommodation styles and experiences. The lodges used offer interaction for children to make the experience educational and fun from teaching them basic Swahili, to learning how to make and shoot arrows. The safari also offers great game viewing from a closed in vehicle (with a pop-top roof) and your Kenyan hosts working with kids of all ages sharing their knowledge of the bush and bushcrafts. Day 1: Nairobi On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by an ATS representative and transferred to your hotel. Overnight at SOUTHERN SUN MAYFAIR HOTEL. Day 2: Nairobi / Samburu After breakfast meet your ATS driver/guide and drive to Samburu, which is located in Northern Kenya, in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive will introduce you to the animals, which are peculiar to this area – including the reticulated giraffe, grevy’s zebra, the Somali ostrich, gerenuk and oryx. Two nights at SAMBURU INTREPIDS CAMP or similar. (B, L, D) Day 3: Samburu This morning you will head out on another game drive. Visit the world famous bird sanctuary that is Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its huge concentration of flamingoes. After lunch in the park, embark on a late afternoon game drive. Overnight at SAROVA LION HILL LODGE or similar. (B, L, D) Day 5: Lake Nakuru / Lake Naivasha After breakfast, drive to Lake Naivasha and enjoy lunch at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge. In the afternoon enjoy a boat ride and or walk on Crescent Island. Overnight at LAKE NAIVASHA SOPA LODGE or similar. (B, L, D) Day 6: Lake Naivasha / Masai Mara Leave the lake to drive across the lunar landscape of the Great Rift Valley to reach Kenya’s best known game reserve – the Masai Mara.
