Why would this be important to you? It is a wonderful chance for you to meet
someone new to Ponca City. It’s also a great opportunity for us to talk about what the
Chamber does for the school system. We take this time to discuss the importance of shopping
local as well.
You can participate in sponsoring a new teacher by purchasing their meal, as well as
yours. Cost for the lunch is $15 per person. Your sponsorship would only be $30! We will find
out soon how many new teachers we will have for the 2014-2015 school year. Let us know
right away if you would like to participate as a sponsor by phoning the Chamber office at
765-4400 or emailing Rich at rich@poncacitychamber.com.
Remember, you purchase your meal, as well as a teacher’s meal; the total cost is only
$30. You can pay in advance or at the door. You can sponsor more than one teacher for an
additional $15.
If we have enough sponsors, we will pay for the principals’ lunches as well. We have
been able to do that in the past and it is an awesome way to let them know how much we
appreciate their hard work.
We appreciate your support! This luncheon is sponsored by the Education and
Workforce Development Committee of the Chamber.

Outstanding Business Partner for July—
Merrifield Office Supply
Stephanie Austin, Vice Chair of the Ponca City Business Council Committee, presents J.D. Nash and
Jeri Casey-Nash with the Business Partner of the Month award for July. Shown representing the
Chamber are committee members Diane Anderson and Kristi Russell.
Business Partner of the Month Spotlight
with J.D. Nash and Jeri Casey-Nash
In August, 1981, with only $10,000 and a beat up van, Loran Merrifield started a business with two folding tables
stacked with some pencils, pens and paper. That day, he hit the pavement to find some customers in Enid, OK. Today
Merrifield Office Supply has 6 locations throughout Oklahoma. CEO Stan Merrifield opened the Ponca City location in 1985
and they are now residing in their 3rd downtown location at 206 E. Grand Ave., which is twice the size as their previous
location.
Managers J.D. Nash and Jeri Casey-Nash stay very active with the Ponca City Chamber of Commerce, Ambucs,
Hospice of North Central Oklahoma and the American Legion and are very passionate about being involved with the Ponca
City Community.
Merrifield Office Supply has grown to create a “one-stop” shopping location for our area businesses by providing
office and school supplies, items needed for coffee and break rooms, as well as janitorial supplies. They also provide home
and office furniture, as well as a wide variety of promotional items. Merrifield’s is committed to providing personal service
and competitive prices as they create value for their customers. If they do not have what you’re looking for in stock, they will
be happy to order it right away. Teachers are appreciated every day at Merrifield’s and receive a 10% discount off all regular
priced teacher supplies. There is never a minimum order for free delivery.
Stop in and visit J.D. and Jeri at 206 E. Grand Ave. with the new showroom hours of 12:00 p.m.—5:30 p.m.,
Monday through Friday, or mornings by appointment. You can also visit the website at www.msave.net for a full list of
catalog products and sales.

Cash Mob Monday — Monday, July 7th
Cash Mob Monday will be Monday, July 7th, at 12:00 p.m. at Design Hair Studio located at 2128 N. 14th St., Suite 5. You can
purchase gift certificates for hair and salon services as well as small gift items! Please join us.
Santa Buck Giveaway
We have a new name this year but it’s the same great retail program and same price to participate! We made several
changes last year to our Community Wide Holiday Giveaway. The biggest change was using a single ticket system instead of
double tickets. This truly cut down on the amount of work for our participants. We also created our Santa Buck Surprise
program where we gave away Santa Bucks in every participant’s store to one of their customers. This was a huge hit! In 2014
we’ve added another change, renaming the promotion Santa Buck Giveaway.
It is now time to start planning for the 2014 Santa Buck Giveaway. We have to get everything in place by October in order to
start the promotion November 1. We have included in this newsletter an application with all the details.
The cost is still the same at $250. All funds go toward the promotion and not the Chamber. The more participants we have,
the more dollars we have to market Ponca City during this critical retail time of year. Please plan to participate.
We set a record last year in ticket distribution at 1.4 million tickets. That represented over 14 million dollars in sales with
our participants. Please help us take our Santa Buck Giveaway to a new level.
