4th Day Newsletter - Mid Hudson Tres Dias
4th Day Newsletter www.mhtd.org From the President: Greetings, As I write this letter summer is rapidly drawing to an end, and we will soon be having our final two weekends of 2012. Please be in prayer about sponsoring someone on one or both weekends. Remember how God blessed you when you made your weekend and then step out and sponsor someone so God can bless them also. We are looking for someone to assume the responsibility of handling the applications for the men's weekends. Sue Arent has been serving in this position for the past 15 years. She now lives full-time in Connecticut near the Rhode Island border. It would be advantageous if someone here in the Hudson Valley would be willing to take on this job. If you are interested in performing this task, give Sue a call and she will fill you in on what the job entails. Our Leaders Seminar will be held on Saturday, October 20th at the Clintondale Friends Church so mark your calendars now. For anyone that may be interested in being a rector, attending the Leaders Seminar is a requirement. The information that will be presented that day is beneficial to everyone, particularly new pescadores. My term as President will soon be over so this will be my final letter to you. It has been an honor and a joy to serve you and God in this capacity. I still plan on being involved in Mid-Hudson Tres Dias activities so I expect I will see you at some of our events. May God bless you and your families as you enjoy the final days of summer. Personal palanca should be notes of encouragement to the candidates and team. Remember that "palanca" means lever - they need to receive notes on Friday and Saturday to effectively use this lever! "Dear Brother/Sister in Christ" notes: Please remember to write some palanca to candidates you do not know and who do not have a large local community to support them. In order to personalize palanca, names of candidates and team members, as well as weekend scripture verses, are posted on the website: http://mhtd.org/members/forums/ weekend-view.cfm KITCHEN PALANCA Please call the Head Kitchen Auxiliary to provide break room foods and drinks. You can now sign up to SERVE MEALS and assist with break room set up at specific times during weekend. Plan on a 3-4 hour commitment. (PLEASE: Candidate's spouses are requested NOT to serve meals and Pre-Registration by calling the Head Kitchen Auxiliary is required) MANANITA Please gather at Mt Alvernia at 7:00 am sharp in the Dining Room. Auxiliaries are stationed to help direct new pescadores. The words to the Mananita song are located on the website: http://mhtd.org/members/mananita.shtml Volume 140, Number 3 Men's Tres Dias #161 Page 3 Sept 13-16, 2012 Dear Brothers and Sisters, Our team meetings are in process. The team members of Men's Tres Dias # 161 have faithfully answered the call to serve on this weekend and eagerly look forward to serving the Lord. Just as Jesus came to serve, it is our desire to come into this weekend as servants. Faith is our cornerstone. We are affirmed that God is calling us to share our gifts and talents as we honor our Lord in service to the candidates. The team is prayerfully engaged as we see what He has planned for the weekend. We ask you, the MHTD community, for your prayers as we prepare for the weekend and entering into service to the Lord and the candidates. Hi Everyone, I am now chairing the Post Weekend Committee, in other words, I am scheduling Secuela’s. It has come to my attention that the Parish Rep list has not been updated in a long time. I noticed many people listed as representatives for certain churches who do not even attend those churches anymore. Also, a lot of the emails listed for parish reps are incorrect. I ask you to check to see if your church has a rep, if not, would you prayerfully consider taking on that role? All that would be required of you is to be the person contacted by Tres Dias for information or for a request to hold a Secuela. Also, although it is not mandatory, we would like it if you would keep the Pescadores in your congregation aware of upcoming Tres Dias events. If you are already a rep, could you please check to make sure your email is correct. Anyone willing to host a Secuela at their church can contact me at julier@hvc.rr.com. You can have the month of your choice if you act quickly! Secuela’s are such a blessing and we try to have them on both sides of the river for the convenience of those traveling to them. Songs, fellowship, food and God’s love, what more could we ask for. Thanks for your consideration and help in this matter.
