Newsletter August 2015 - God`s Littlest Angels
August 2015 God’s Littlest Angels STUDENTS HERE IN HAITI NEED YOUR HELP! How often do we take for granted our ability to read our Bibles, get directions, or attend school? You can change the life of a child for just pennies per day by giving them the gift of an education! We have over 150 students who still need sponsors. The deadline for school sponsorship is quickly approaching. If you are interested in sponsoring a student this year please complete the School Sponsor Information Form to let us know. To complete your donation, please be sure to go to the Donate Page and follow the prompts according to your country of residence. If you are already a sponsor, then please do the same thing and fill out the form so we know that you intend to sponsor again for the 2015-2016 school year. If you are already enrolled in the Auto Pay program, your payments will continue as usual. If sponsors are not found, then these children will have to sit home this school year and a lot of the knowledge they learned last year will probably be lost. They need a sponsor so they can attend school and continue to build on the things they have already learned. Funds are needed no later than first week of September 2015. Any funds that come in after this, will have to be credited to the next school year. We must hand out funds for schooling to the students during the first week of September since most schools start September 7th. We do not have the available funds to help the children pay for schooling if a sponsor is not found. "All kids need is a little help, a little hope and somebody who believes in them." Earvin "Magic" Johnson Please be that someone who believes in these children! RETURNING TO VISIT THE COUNTRY OF THEIR BIRTH From left to right: Angelica, Kendall, Chery who helps us at the airport, Lenae, and Matina. It is always so much fun when children who have been adopted come back to see us. Since I have staff who has been with me since 1998 (Ti Jocelyne) and several who started in 2000, many of them remember the children when they were here. Last week we had a young lady who is now 18 years old and was adopted in 1998 come back to see us and she even was able to find her birth family in a small mountain village outside of Port-au-Prince! It was a miracle because I had not heard from this family since 2000. Now we have two moms who have returned to Haiti with their girls for a week of helping out at the orphanage and allowing the girls to see the country of their birth. IBESR does not understand why these children would want to come back, but I can tell them why. Because until these children can see it, touch it, and smell it, Haiti is not real to them and they need to come back to experience life in Haiti! We hope to see more children return as time goes on and experience life in Haiti. God’s Littlest Angels Unit 2081 - GLA 3170 Airmans Drive Ft. You can designate GLA as the charity that you wish to contribute to. Any questions contact Jay in our Colorado Office at jay@glahaiti.org or call her at 719-638-4348. Opportunities to Raise Funds for GLA Many people have asked us for brochures, newsletters, videos, and help on setting up a display when talking about GLA at their churches or organizations. GLA also has a promotional kit that you can use to bring the story of GLA to your church, community organization, family and friends, school, and family groups! Show some of our videos which are included in the packet. Sit around and talk about Haiti and the children over a piece of cake and some coffee. Then challenge everyone to help feed the children! For more information, check out the new Promotional page on the GLA web site. Get your friends and families to join you to see who can raise the most funds for the children! Put a box at your work place if they will allow it or your church. Then ask people to help feed the children for one month at $1.00 per day and see who can fill their boxes up the quickest! Many people can put loose change in their boxes and still fill them up! Because when you feed a child, you feed their future!
