Tel/Fax +39 045 6570439; Tel. +39 045 6583903; E-mail: race@fragliavela.org – web: www.fragliavela.org The venue: Garda Lake 1 RULES 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. 1.2 No national authority prescriptions will apply. 1.3 If there is a conflict between languages English text will take precedence. 1.4 RRS 44.1 and 44.2 are changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty. 2 ADVERTISING Competitors may be required to affix bow stickers displaying sponsors logo(s) or/and name(s) chosen and supplied by the organizing authority. 3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRIES 3.1 The Event is open to all boats of the International Moth Class. 3.2 Eligible boats may enter by completing the entry form on on the foiling week website (http://one.foilingweek.com/index.php#sailors) by and not later than 30th June 2016. Late entries will be subject of additional entry fee described in NOR 3.3 3.3 Entry fee will be as follows: Entry fee: 120€ (paid before 30/06/2016 by bank transfer). (Reserve day Long Distance) After races Price giving and Pasta Party Four races can be sailed every day. 6 MEASUREMENT Boats may be subject to inspections at any time during the regatta. 7 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS The Sailing Instructions will be available at the registration. 8 VENUE The racing area will be shown in the Sailing Instructions, in Appendix A. 9 COURSES The courses will be Windward/Leeward as described in the Sailing Instructions 10 SCORING 10.1 A minimum of three races will be completed to constitute a regatta. 10.2 When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race score 10.3 When from 5 to 8 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. 10.4 When 9 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her two worst scores. 10.5 The ‘Grand Prix’ (Lapped Finish) procedure will be used. This procedure will be described in the Sailing Instructions. 11 SUPPORT BOATS Support boats shall be registered with the organizing authority and will be required to comply with local legislation. 12 LONG DISTANCE 12.1 Saturday afternoon is programmed the costal race long distance (Suday is the reserve day for the Long Distance in case of bad weather conditions). The racing area is between Ponale, Malcesine and Campione. The distance is approx 25 miles. There will be a different raking list only for the long distance race. 12.2 COMPULSORY SAFETY EQUIPEMENT Soci e t à d i Ge st i on e d e l R ispa r m io - personal flotation devices in accordance with EC specifications - 1 towing rope of 15 meters long and 6 mm in diameter (only for multi-hull) - RECCOMENDED: helmet of protection for each crew member 12.3 OTHER AUTHORIZED AND RECOMMENDED EQUIPEMENT in case of emergency : - VHF - portable GPS - electronic compass - a knife attached to the martingale or under the trampoline - a mobile phone 13 MEDIA RIGHT By participating in the regatta competitors automatically grant the organizing authority and their sponsors the right in perpetuity to make, use and show, from time to time at their discretion, any motion pictures and live, taped or filmed television and other reproductions of the athlete during the period of competition without compensation. 14 PRIZES Prizes will be awarded to the top three competitors overall. 15 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority of Fraglia vela Malcesine, the Federazione Italiana Vela, their officers, members and volunteers do not accept liability for loss of life or property, personal injury sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta. .The establishment of the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions in no way limits or reduces the complete and unlimited responsibilities of a competitor being solely and entirely responsible for the management of a boat he or she is sailing. A competitor must be of good health and a competent sailor capable of sailing in strong winds. It is the responsibility of each sailor to decide to participate in a race or to continue racing. A competitor is wholly and exclusively responsible for third party liability insurance on the boat that he or she is sailing and for his or her personal accident and health insurance. 16 FURTHER INFORMATION For further information please contact race@fragliavela.org or visit http://www.fragliavela.org/it/20/regate or http://www.foilingweek.com/ 17 LOGISTIC INFORMATION 17.1 Boats trailers and cars may park in the sailing club parking lots from Sunday, July 3rd until Tuesday, July 12th. It is forbidden to park Camper, Vans, either during the day or overnight, within the limits of the Fraglia Vela Malcesine private area.
