Exists to provide funding, primarily for the education of missionary children of the organization and eventually, others. ! Support is for: • University Education • Polytechnique Education • And other tertiary education ! Inspired by God, stirring the hearts of Christians through friends of the ministry to respond to the challenge of funding the education requirements of children of Missionaries. 3 MKTF STRATEGY ! The education trust fund will be an interest-yielding investment account in a financial market that is: • Managed by a Board of trustees appointed and accountable to the Board of directors of CAPRO ! • Supported by dedicated fund managers committed to investing in ethical entities. 4 CAPRO MKTF USA BOARD (six members) Chairman: Meschak Ilobi Meschak has almost 40 years’ experience in the global Oil and Gas industry. He has worked for Shell Oil Company in Nigeria & Netherlands; as well as other companies in the US. He has also served as a visiting professor of International Business and Petroleum Engineering in a foreign country. He currently serves as President/CEO of his own independent oil and gas consulting business. He holds a B.S. & M.S. Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa, as well as an MBA in Global Business Management from the University of Phoenix. He worships at Hosanna Fellowship Church and resides in Houston, Texas, USA with his wife and children Treasurer: Titi Davies Trustee: Dr Owen Bement ! Owen retired from Shell Oil in 2006 following a successful 30 year career in oil/gas exploration. He is presently consulting for companies involved in domestic and international oil/gas exploration. He holds a BS degree in Mathematics from Wheaton College, an MS degree in Geology from the University of Illinois and a PhD. in Geology from the University of Cincinnati. He is a member of Grand Parkway Baptist Church in Richmond, Texas, where he has served for several years on the Finance Committee and the Board of Elders. Involved in his community, he served 6 years on the Needville Independent School District Board of Trustees and 4 years as a Councilman on the Fulshear City Council. He has also served on the Fulshear Planning Commission and the Parks Board. He and his wife, Sherri have been married for 38 years, have 2 grown sons and live in Fulshear, Texas, USA. Titi is a Business Manager with a focus on Supply Chain Development and Strategy. During the course of her career, she has successfully negotiated multi-million dollar deals and has represented her company in almost 10 countries around the world – developing cost and tax savings strategies. She also manages a financial planning/ tax preparation practice. She holds a bachelors degree in Accounting and is a CPA, CMA. ! She is a member of House on the Word Church and serves as a co-treasurer of Divine Benevolence Medical Missions. ! Titi and Ola, her husband of over 20 years, live in Houston, Texas, USA with their twin children. ! 5 CAPRO MKTF NIGERIA BOARD (six members) Chairman: John Obaro Trustee: Ebun Adenuga Trustee: Professor Funso Sonaiya John is the Managing Director of SystemSpecs Limited, a Nigeria based Software House. He has also served as the Head of Information Technology at International Merchant Bank (an affiliate of the First National Bank of Chicago). Voted as Nigeria’s ICT Personality of the year 2013 by the Nigerian Computer Society, John holds a Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, as well as an MBA from the University of Lagos. Ebun has over 23 years of diverse treasury experience working across various subsidiaries of Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria and in the US. She also serves on the Board of Covenant Agro-Allied Limited and Covenant Apartment Complex Limited. She holds a HND in Accountancy from Ogun State Polytechnic, Nigeria. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and International Associate member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is a member of The Redeemed Christian Church of God. She is also a Covenant and Congress Partner with the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Nigeria and USA, Benny Hinn Ministries and Inspiration Ministries. She has been married for 20 years, has 4 teenage children and lives in Lagos, Nigeria. Funso is a professor at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Nigeria where he has taught in the Department of Animal Sciences since 1977. He has served the university as Department Head, Dean of Faculty and Director of the University Centre for Distance Learning. He is also a Fellow of the three professional associations for Animal Science in Nigeria. He worships at the All Souls Chapel at OAU where he has served on the Chapel Council for two terms and as Chairman for one term. He is currently serving on the Governing Council of the Nigeria Fellowship of Evangelical Students (NIFES). He guides the work at the Covenant Orphanage and Welfare Centre located in Nigeria. He has been a member of CAPRO since 1981 and led the Ife chapter for many years. He is married to Professor Oluremi Sonaiya and they have 2 adult children and 2 grand children. He lives with his family in Ife, Nigeria. ! He has been involved with supporting the CAPRO organization since 1997 . ! He worships at Foursquare Gospel Church, is married with children and lives in Lagos, Nigeria. 6 WHAT IS CALVARY MINISTRIES (CAPRO)? ! ! ! ! A non-denominational global Christian missionary movement of African origin, taking the gospel to the remaining unevangelised parts of the world with a particular focus on the unreached peoples of Africa and the world. 7 WHAT DOES CAPRO DO? Mercy ministries: Attends to the social concerns and physical needs of the people and communities where we work. Mercy Ministry operations include provision of education, basic heath care, rural development, empowerment initiatives and also disaster and relief services Missions awareness and mobilization: Helps churches raise missions awareness and also enables them identify and release the needed manpower and resources to reach the unreached. Church planting & discipleship: Sends missionary teams among the unreached peoples to raise indigenous believers who are later constituted into groups of believers (churches) and can continue the task of reaching the remaining parts of their own people group. Missions Research: Investigates and maintains up-to-date information on the Harvest Field to enable churches and missions agencies understand where the greatest needs for evangelism lie as well as how to develop the most effective strategy for outreach. 8 Missions Training: School of Missions (SOM) – for those called to full-time missionary service. Available in 4 countries and 3 languages. Over 700 persons have enrolled and have studied in the school. Schools of Leadership (SOL) - available in 2 countries and 2 languages Discipleship Training Schools (DTS) available in 8 countries in 3 languages Outreaches Operation Joshua: short-term missions program designed to enable Christians to visit our mission fields for periods of 2 weeks to 6 months. PARTNER WITH CAPRO MINISTRIES & MKTF ! • PRAY: Pray for the core mission work and also for the necessary financial support for the ministry work and the education of the missionary children • BECOME AN ADVOCATE: Represent us in the search for a solution to the challenge of missionary children education. Spread the need and the case for action to other Christians — in your church, fellowship or corporate settings. • ADOPT A MISSIONARY KID: • • • • Adopt a missionary child or children for monetary and/or non-monetary support • Corporate entities can provide donations and scholarships to deserving kids of missionaries Monetary support includes committing to sponsor a missionary kid through 4 years or less of college Non-monetary support includes, but is not limited to, room and board, vacation home, correspondence and mentoring YIELD: Yield your financial resources to support the MKTF. • • • • One time financial contribution Regular financial contribution to the fund Gifts of stocks, bonds and real estate Financial equivalent for partial or full scholarship 11 WHY SHOULD YOU GIVE? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? 15 How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!” ! • Rom 12:13 (AMP) “ Contribute to the needs of God’s people [sharing in the necessities of the saints]; pursue the practice of hospitality” ! • Phil 4:18 (AMP) “ But I have [your full payment] and more; I have everything I need and am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts You sent me. Missionaries are often unable to cater for the education needs of their own children ! There will be ~90 CAPRO missionaries’ children due for college education by the year 2020 13 MKTF FIRST FRUITS • The first 4 beneficiaries of MKTF graduated in June 2013!!! • • Tim is the son of Amos Aderonmu, the first full time missionary with CAPRO and previous CAPRO International Director • ! • Tim graduated with a degree in Mass Communications The first of 3 children of late CAPRO Missionary Joseph Maroh Joseph died while serving in the arid region of Niger Republic. His w i d o w, M e l r o s e , f a i t h f u l l y continues to work as a CAPRO missionary while raising her 3 sons. • Emmanuel is the son of Tunji Babatope, a long-serving missionary with CAPRO and currently head of CAPRO’s operations in Ghana ! • Emmanuel graduated with a BA degree in Psychology ! • Evangel graduated with a degree in Economics 14 • Immanuel is the son of Dr. Francis Kashimawo, a longserving medical missionary with CAPRO ! • Immanuel graduated with a degree in History and International Relations HOW YOU CAN GIVE • Invest In A Life: Adopt a missionary kid • Commit to sponsor a specific Missionary kid for 4 years of college • $300 per month (or Naira equivalent) OR • Commit to sponsor a specific Missionary kid for between 1 to 4years of college • $300 per month (or Naira equivalent) • • !
