Altar Servers!
We have 8 new servers! Thanks be to God and
to the generous commitment of these youth and
their parents to this ministry. We had a first
training and party last week. More photos are
on our parish Facebook page. Our existing
servers, Dylan, Sarah, and Dominic, will be
helping them get accustomed during Masses in
September. We plan to recruit every year from
First Holy Communion. Hoorah!
Sponsorship Turnout
Thank you to all who sponsored the
items on Fr. Jason’s list. Within 15
minutes after the 5pm Mass, all
items were sponsored! Thank you
for your generosity. We also had
people from the 8am and 11:15
Masses wanting to sponsor items,
so we added two new things. The
first was a funeral pall for $800.
Funeral palls are used to drape
over a casket as a
sign of baptism.
Two people have
already come forward for this as
well. Finally we opened up the ability
to sponsor the altar server meetings
and parties which cost at most $100
for pizza and prizes. The next two
meetings are already sponsored.
Thank you for all your generosity,
but most especially for your continued involvement with our parish.
Supporting the needs of God’s
Church is truly the charity above all
other charities as the “salvation of
souls” is the greatest human need in
the world! Thank you for helping Fr.
Jason cross a few items off of his
list. Have a blessed week!

Natural Family Planning
Married couples, don’t you wish
there was a NATURAL, HEALTHY,
& EFFECTIVE way to avoid or
achieve pregnancy?
Well there is… NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING! NFP is
a soundly-based (99% effective), scientific method
which focuses on the systemic observation and
recording of natural events– the signs of fertility and
infertility, through charting. It is Church-approved.

“Lost & Found” Baby Bottles: All of us at
ALPHA are very grateful for the generous
response to our recent baby bottle fundraiser
(AKA “Change for Life”). At this time, we have
deposited almost $13,000 in the bank which will
go a long way to help us serve women and
families who are facing the challenges of pregnancy and
early parenthood.
However, about 400 bottles are still out there somewhere
in the county! If one of them might be in your home or
car, we would be very grateful if you would take a look
and return it to ALPHA. Our office is at 11549 Los Osos
Valley Road, Ste. 104, across from the Laguna Village
Shopping Center. Office hours are weekdays, except for
Thursday, from 10a.m. to 3p.m. We also have office hours
in outlying parts of the county– please call 541-3367 for
days and times. OR call us, and we will arrange to pick it
up from you.
Returning your bottles, full or empty, means that we will
save money next year by not having to replace those
bottles. Thanks again for your generous support of
ALPHA!
DISCERNMENT DAY: Have you ever
wondered what life is like as a nun? Are you
drawn to a life of prayer and have a deep
desire for love and service? The Dominican
Nuns of Corpus Christi Monastery located at
215 Oak Grove Avenue in Menlo Park, CA
will host a Discernment Day for single Catholic women ages 18-40 on October 3rd, or for
more
information contact Sister Joseph Marie O.P.
at vocations@nunsmenlo.org or visit our website at: http://
nunsmenlo.org/discernment-days/. The day begins with
Mass at 8:00am followed by Divine Office,
Adoration, Rosary, Conferences and Vocation Stories given by
our Dominican nuns and friars.
