October 18 – Depart Chicago
Depart Chicago on your trans-Pacific
flight. Cross the International Date Line en
route.
October 19 – Arrive Beijing
Upon arrival in Beijing you are met at
the airport and transferred to your hotel.

October 20 – Beijing
A full day of sightseeing to see the
wonders of this 3,000-year-old city
begins at 8:30 a.m. Highlights include the
monumental Tian An Men Square, the
expansive courtyards and palaces of the
Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven
where Emperors went to pray for a good
harvest.
In the evening, enjoy an authentic Peking
Duck dinner at Quan Ju De. (B/L/D)
October 21 – Beijing
Depart your hotel at 8:30 a.m. for a day
excursion to the Badaling section of the
Great Wall, 50 miles away from downtown
Beijing. The portion of the wall running
through the site was built in 1504 during
the Ming Dynasty, along with a military
outpost reflecting the location’s strategic
importance. On the way back to Beijing,
stop and visit the Ming Dynasty Tombs
where 13 emperors of the Ming dynasty
were buried. Enjoy dinner at a local
restaurant. (B/L/D)
October 22 – Beijing/Xian
Take the morning transfer to the airport for
your flight to Xian, a culturally abundant
city that was the capital of ancient China
for eleven dynasties. Arrive in Xian and
transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon,
visit Xian’s Historic Museum and take a
walk atop the famous City Wall. (Grand

October 23 – Xian
Start the morning with a visit to the
renowned mausoleum of Emperor Qin Shi
Huangdi, with an army of 6,000 terracotta
warriors, horses and chariots. After this,
see the city highlights such as the Big
Wild Goose Pagoda, and the Hua Qing
Hot Springs.
Tonight, enjoy a feast of delicate
dumplings at De Fa Chang. (B/L/D)
October 24 – Xian/Shanghai
Transfer to the airport for your flight
to Shanghai, China’s largest city, and
transfer to your hotel. (New World

October 25 – Shanghai
Today’s sightseeing begins at 8:30 a.m.
and includes visits to the busy waterfront
along the Bund, the Jade Buddha Temple
and the old center of Shanghai, including
the expansive Yu Garden. End the day
visiting the shops on the Nanjing Road.

October 26 – Shanghai
Today, take a full-day tour to Suzhou,
which has been known as the Venice of
the East. Your tour in Suzhou includes:
the attractive Lingering Garden, one of the
four most famous gardens in China and
which was constructed in 1593 during the
Ming Dynasty; the ancient Tiger Hill Park,
with a history of over 2,500 years, having
the premier view of Suzhou; and the No.
1 Silk Factory, where you can learn more
about silk production and detailed steps
of the silk-making process. Travel back to
Shanghai after the tour. (B/L/D)
October 27 – Shanghai/Chicago
Transfer to the airport for your departure
flight back to Chicago, arriving back the
same day. (B)
