Summer 2015
Spotlight Sanfilippo
An Afternoon at Sanfilippo! What a
great afternoon it was.
ICDI is proud to report that the August
8, 2015 event at the Sanfilippo Estate
was a huge success. This is due to the
tremendous support from our current
donors and also new friends. We are
blessed and very pleased to report that
the event grossed over $120,000.
It is hard not to have a good time at the
Sanfilippo Carousel Room.
Riding the carousel.
The feeling of being a kid again!
The Clients We Serve
Marwan Saffaf, a resident of the Marie
Joseph House of Hospitality for men
spoke to our audience from the heart
about his journey out of Syria and his
time at the McHenry County Jail, his
relationship with ICDI, and how grateful
he is for the services received and now
the opportunities he has because of the
work of ICDI.
On stage with Marwan is Julie Owens
Mineman, member of the ICDI Board of
Directors and Sister JoAnn Persch,
Executive Director of ICDI. They spoke about
how the organization has grown and what the
vision is for the future.

Raising Money
It takes a community of caring supporters to raise money for ICDI and the 2015
event proved to be most
successful.
Professional auctioneer Vinnie Zaffarano of Zaffarano
Auctioneers, led the way
with the help of Board
Member Melanie Schikore, in
the Fund-a-Need Plea. This
then segwayed to the Live
Auction, with the PREMO
item of the afternoon,
“Dinner with the Sisters”,
dinner for 10 with Sister
JoAnn and Sister Pat at the
Gage Restaurant, donated by
Billy Lawless.
"So grateful to those
Face of Fun
who donated a live
auction, grand raffle,
or chance raffle item.
All were sought after
by the guests."
Sister JoAnn
Our Fearless Volunteers
It took over 20
volunteers, to put
on this event. They
came to help,
representing ICDI
staff and program
volunteers.
Thank you!
