EUROPIC
Up-to-date computer lighting program
enabling you to design optimal lighting for
any environment
EUROPIC is an innovative software package for lighting
calculations for any interior, exterior or roadway areas.
It can operate in Windows 95 or NT environments and is
available on CD-ROM. For displayingand printing, 7 languages
(English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Portuguese and
Spanish) can be chosen. It enables the calculations to be made quickly,
exactly and easily. Tutorial and on-line Help belong to the
program. The CD contains an Instruction Manual, which can be
printed out at any time. As a part of the program, the Photometry Management
and the Fundamental Information about Lighting will prove to be useful tools
during the work.
The program can be used for any irregular shape and size rooms/areas, and at the same time in a
library, solutions for rooms with regular and pre-determined shapes, sizes and ceiling structures can be
found. All this enable you to design the lighting of any environment absolute freely and easily without
approximation and composition techniques should be used which are common in case of traditional
lighting design programs. When the calculation is complete, the results can be displayed in illuminace
tables and relative graphs (isolux curves, spot and 3D diagrams). For simplifying the evaluation of the lit
area, the tables showing different values can be displayed in several adjacent windows on the screen.
All design related results can not only be displayed on the screen but printed out, as well, illustrating
them by 2 and 3 dimensional drawings. A library including a wide range of furniture can make it possible
to reproduce the designs in a more realistic way by showing the shadows of tables, chairs, book cases,
stairs, stands, trees, etc.
Beyond displaying the lighting engineering design, EUROPIC can also produce a captivating photo-like
picture showing the final image with installed luminaires together. In this way, a picture can be
prepared about the real arrangement of the room to be lit.

phase, GE Lighting controls the safety, characteristics and
quality of the products in its new laboratory where all
compliance tests can be made according to the national
and international standards. All test equipment and
measuring instruments in the laboratory have been chosen
in accordance with the highest standards in order to
guarantee the maximum reliability of results.

CERTIFICATES
Products and processes
complying the highest
quality standards
The quality control system of GE Lighting has been
holding UNI EN ISO 9000 Certificate since 1994.
All equipment in GE Lighting has CE marking. This mark
demonstrates that the equipment complies with the EN
Regulations relating to electrical products and these
products can freely be sold in the unified European
market.
For lighting equipment, No. 73/23 (modified by
No. 93/68) Low Voltage Equipment and No. 89/336
(modified by No. 93/68 and 93/31) Electromagnetic
Compatibility directives are applicable.
ENEC Certificate
Lighting equipment and their parts holding ENEC
(European Norms Electrical Certification) mark can be
freely marketed in whole Europe. The ENEC mark has
been created on the basis of an agreement of 18
European institutes approved by the Cenelec Mark
Committee) and verifies that the product in question
complies with the EN Standards. The ENEC mark is
accepted by all countries involved in this agreement as
an equivalent one to that of their similar local marking.
In Italy, IMQ is authorised to give ENEC Certification,
which is completed with an additional 03 mark. This
means that an Italian institute issued this Certificate.
The ENEC Process covers the qualification of the
manufacturer (which must have UNI EN ISO 9002
Quality Certification), the approval the product in
question and the inspection of the production.
The main advantage of this process is that only one
certificate has to be obtained instead of several local
ones which makes possible the export activities to
become more dynamic and to sell products in 18
different markets by possessing only one mark.

Perfect for AD-FT ambients with inflammability temperature > 150°C.
Body: pressed from one piece of steel INOX AISI 304, with extremely high mechanic
resistance.
Cover:
MAX/V: 4mm thick tempered glass with high chemical and mechanical resistance fitted
in stainless steel frame.
MAX/P: transparent shatterproof self-extinguishing V2 Lexan® polycarbonate, injection
moulded anti-ageing UV-stabilised. Completely smooth on the outside for easy cleaning.
Clips: stainless steel with self-retaining hinged joints.
Reflector: polished aluminium with high optical performance.
Control gear and electric circuit: 230V 50Hz wired with heat-resistant (HT 90°C); fireretardant cable. Explosion-proof capacitor, with built-in discharge resistor, with power
factor correction; terminal block with switching fuse and cable grommet for wires up to
2.5 mm2.

Waterproof luminaires for T8 tubular fluorescent lamps offering total protection against the
entry of foreign objects, jets of waters from any direction and accidental contact (Class II).
Flame and combustion resistant in compliance with IEC 34.21 EN 60598-1.
Suitable for installation in damp and/or dusty environments as well as for exterior use.
The luminaires are supplied with Ø 38 mm polycarbonate protective tube and VIT 2 starter
(FS 2 for MAC 218 version).
Body and cover: fibreglass reinforced polyester.
Lampholder: self-extinguishing polycarbonate for T8 tubular fluorescent lamps, complete
with ring nuts, lampholders clip fit over a seal in cover tube seating.
Control gear and electric circuit: wired for 230V 50Hz using cables with silicone
insulation, power factor correction using explosion-proof capacitor with built-in discharge
resistor; terminal block with 2.5 mm2 clamping screws; VIT 2 safety starter for automatic
cut-out of burned out or faulty lamps (FS 2 starter for MAC 218 version). Starters are
accessible from outside the luminaire by removing the starter compartment cap in cover.

High IP 54 protection class luminaires for T8 fluorescent lamps. Cover and attachments
can be fitted quickly without tools, cutting installation and maintenance costs.
Suitable for AD-FT ambients; in this case NPGTW polycarbonate overtube and VIT 2
Rapidstart safety starter should be used.
Body and cover: bonderised cold-rolled steel, thickness 5/10 mm for body, 6/10 mm for
cover with a white epoxy-polyester powder paint finish. Cover is mounted on the body
using special wing nuts.
Lampholder: polycarbonate, fitted to the body by a safety clip; complete with soft
LOMOD® ring nuts to ensure an effective seal and prevent any danger of the lamp
failing; the “rotor” system enables continuous mounting of the luminaires.
Control gear and electric circuit: wired for 230V 50Hz using cables with silicon
sleeves; power factor correction using explosion-proof capacitor and built-in discharge
resistor; terminal block with 2.5 mm2 clamping screws. The control gear circuit wiring is
located on a removable sheet plate located inside the luminaire.

MEGA
Mega is a modular lighting system developed to provide quick and easy installation
possibilities for large industrial and commercial areas. Owing to the direct mechanical
connection, the 4-pin connecting modules and the low number of joints, the installation
is very quick.
The product family includes single- and twin-lamp modules of max. 3m length, and steel
and aluminium reflectors with louvres.
Body: bonderised cold rolled 6/10mm sheet-steel with white epoxy-polyester powder
paint finish. Lampholder: polycarbonate with IP 40 protection, which can be improved
with MGGT covertube.
Covertube: Ø 29mm shatterproof self-extinguishing polycarbonate accessory.
Metal reflector: bonderised cold-pressed sheet steel with white epoxy-polyester
powder paint finish.
Aluminium reflector: cold pressed polished aluminium formed for optimum light
output.
Aluminium louvre: anodised anti-iridescent anti reflection aluminium featuring
parabolic longitudinal reflectors for wide and symmetrical Batwing light distribution and
optimum light output.
Control gear and electric circuit: 230V 50Hz; starter; wired with Ø 0.50 mm2 section
heat-resistant (HT 90°C) cable and with Ø 1.50 mm2 cable for power supply (2 phases +
neutral). Lampholders complete with cathode cover to guarantee IP 40 and to prevent
the lamp to fall.
Installation of modules: suspended with accessory SAC MGG or directly on the
ceiling.

Clips

Body and cover: cold-pressed 5/10 mm sheet steel stove enamelled with white or black

the body.
Diffuser: impact resistant polycarbonate with clear finish and internal prismatic reeding.
Click fits into base.

MULTILITE System 8000
MULTILITE System 8000 is an extremely compact single and twin lamp
lighting system, specially created to facilitate the design of modern
interior lighting schemes.
Made of aluminium, modules and joints all have the same section,
bringing continuity to the entire installation.
The modular design of the system and wide variety of light sources
available offer an infinite variety of application solutions that are ideal
for meeting the varied demands of offices, banks, shops, libraries, etc.
The new connecting module Cat. No. 3179 can connect System 8000
and System 3000 elements while the new louvre (Cat. No. 3004) of
System 3000 is ideal for work environments with video display
terminals.

All ready-wired modules feature a four-pole terminal block at both ends suitable for hard
wire or flexible cables with a section of up to 2.5 mm2.
L1 = module power supply through line.
L2 = through line for separate switching only.
N = neutral through line.
Control gear: 230V 50Hz, heat-resistant cables with section of 1.5 mm2.

MULTILITE System 3000
MULTILITE System 3000 has been specially designed for innovative
lighting solutions; unlike conventional systems, it is able to form
continuous installations without a break between one fluorescent lamp
and the next, as well as offering the possibility of combining direct and
indirect lighting in the same module.
Manufactured entirely of aluminium, the modular design and wide choice
of light sources available offer an infinite variety of application solutions,
perfect for offices, banks and shops, etc.
End caps, joints and suspension fittings are the same as those used in
System 6000.
All 3 systems – 3000, 6000 and 8000 ñ can be combined in a single
installation.
