HOW I ENDED UP WITH TRAFFIC I COULDN'T TURN OFF I've had a big problem recently. It's a problem that most people would probably love to have, but for me, it's interfering with my ability to retire. I can't turn my traffic off. If I do absolutely no promotion tomorrow, between 800 and 1000 people will show up at my main site tomorrow. If I make a blog post, that range jumps to 1500 to 2000. If I write and submit an article tomorrow, we'll be looking at up to 3000 people. I realize that's a lot of traffic to some people. So I want to boil this down further to some numbers that may seem more attainable. Because the same thing happens to my niche sites, just on a much smaller scale. When I was sick and bored out of my mind about 14 months ago, I created a blog under an anonymous handle. I launched it on the 8th of February, 2007. On the 28th at midnight, the last day of the month, 3497 people had come to the site. Much of that traffic was blog related or blog driven. The last post I made to the site was a little under a year ago. I haven't posted to the site. I haven't promoted it, linked to it, or encouraged anyone to link to it. Yesterday, 426 people came to the site. Short of actually turning these sites off, there's nothing I can do to slow the pace of traffic coming to these sites for three reasons. They are: • Being fed by organic traffic from Google, • Receiving traffic and links by a special kind of article marketng I once did, and • Getting RSS and blog traffic. To me, this was an issue because I'd like to have the sites up for reference, but I also want to be out of the public eye, so to speak. I keep wanting to retire, but those sites keep leading people to me for business. One day I was talking to Marlon and he kinda laughed at me, that most people would probably kill to have that kind of problem. Hey! Light bulb! Let's show other people how to get traffic from article marketing, blogs and RSS together to solidify your relationship with Google, and bring you traffic from multiple souces, at the same time. Marlon thought if I teach you how to use the same techiques that I did, it might be a dream come true to get traffic to your site that you can't turn off. That way, you can set up your sites and then go on vacation, and still come back to a stream of sales, subscribers and visitors! So how do we that? Stay with me… HOW WE'LL GET YOU TRAFFIC YOU CAN'T TURN OFF We're going to be using a combination of three strategies. The first one is an abbreviated version of my High Profit Article Marketing Strategy. There's actually a lot more to it than the steps I'm going to outline here, but this will be enough information to get you started. The second strategy is through lucrative keyword research and a very simple apprach to search. If you're into do-it-yourself search engine optimization, some of this you might have seen before, referred to as a Long Tail search strategy, where you capture rankings for a group of easier keyword phrases instead of onekeyword phrase. We're going to go beyond that to capture both the Short Tail and the Long Tail. If all of that sounded like Greek to you, don't fret. I'm going to break this down into plain English. The third approach we'll be using to attain traffic is through a keyword focused use of RSS and Blogging. Marlon likes to call this the "Keyword Traffic Feed" strategy. It's a great name, just remember that the Keyword Traffic Feed is what ties it all together – it's not the only step, it's the final one. On with the presentation.
