JSI UV Canopy - JEVEN Kitchen Ventilation
www.jeven.co.uk JSI-UV canopy - Ultraviolet and cyclonic filters, and supply air Product Description The Jeven JSI-UV canopy has been designed for kitchens where a comfortable, productive and healthy indoor climate is required. JSI-UV is equipped with exhaust, supply and direction air. Unique draftless supply air diffusion and effective grease extraction provide a comfortable and pleasant working environment. UV supply air hoods are suitable for professional kitchens where effective grease extraction is needed. In addition to JCE cyclone filters, the JLI-UV hood also has a UV-filter unit for removing grease and impurities from the exhaust air. In island models the supply air units can be located on all sides of the canopy. Supply air patterns are easy to adjust and the supply air unit's front panel can be removed and washed in a dishwasher, just like the JCE cyclone filters and the mesh filter. The hood is equipped with airflow damper plates and measurement taps on both the exhaust and supply air. Lights and filters The JSI-UV hood comes with ultraviolet (UV) filters, JCE cyclonic filters, a stainless steel net filter, a pressure guard switch and lights. The UV filter unit includes a UV frame with UV-tubes, as well as a UV control unit and panel. Material The supply air hood's base material is stainless steel (AISI 304). Wall materials can be either stainless steel or laminated glass. Accessories Covering boards from the hood's top edge to the false ceiling. Supply air is distributed through supply air units. 5 2. Kitchen staff can adjust the air pattern with the individual nozzles. 3. Heat and impurities rise into the hood. 4. Direction air prevents air leakages and directs heat and impurities towards the grease filters. 4 2 3 5. The effective 3-phase UV filter extracts grease and dirt from the exhaust air. 6. Clean air leaves the filter. Functioning principle of the UV filter unit 6 5 4 1 2 3 PHASE 1 1. Grease laden air enters the filter. 2. Grease particles are extracted as the air spins in a cyclone (>5µm particles) 3. Grease drains down to the bottom of the filter unit. PHASE 2 4. When air flows through the wire mesh filter, the temperature goes down and a smooth air stream is created. Some of the remaining smaller particles are separated. Page 2 Phone: 0121 697 47 07 Email: jeven@jeven.co.uk PHASE 3 5. Ultraviolet light and ozone are generated by UVfluorescent tubes placed in the reaction chamber. When the air stream meets UV light and ozone, the remaining grease and odour decompose and break down. Only carbon dioxide, water and a small amount of dust remain. 6. Clean air is released into the exhaust ducts. JSI-UV hoods www.jeven.co.uk Parts of the JSI-UV canopy 1 8 6 3 5 10 2 14 11 18 17 19 7 13 4 12 16 15 9 1. Outer casing 2. Coefficient Kitchen equipm. C Size Power source Exhaust mm x mm gas/electric m3/s Objectives of kitchen ventilation Total. m3/s The Jeven free design service team can help you with these calculations. Simply email a drawing of the kitchen and the list of cooking equipment to design@jeven.co.uk and we will calculate all the necessary airflows and also prepare a drawing of the canopies for you for free. 1. Cooking vapours and heat should be removed with the help of efficient local exhaust in such a way that contaminants do not pass though the staff’s breathing zone. 2. Temperature, velocity and cooling effect of the supply air should be comfortable. 3. In cases where staff are subjected to high heat radiation, they should be able to adjust the supply air (local cooling) 4. Grease extractors should be fire-proof and, as with supply air units, should be easy to maintain. 5. Air flow rates should be easily adjustable. The nominal airflow per cyclone is about 0.06 m3/s (210 m3/h). With that airflow, the pressure difference across the cyclone is 40-60 Pa. The factory always delivers an appropriate number of cyclones so that the pressure drop in every cyclone is in that range (unless otherwise agreed). 6 units of 39W UV lamps are always included. The UV filter unit's exterior dimensions are always the same. As a joint effect of ozone and ultraviolet light, grease produced during cooking is turned into oxygen, carbon dioxide, water and a polymerised (dust-like) grease. Odour molecules are oxidised into water and carbon dioxide. In the UV filter unit, ultraviolet light breaks down the protein chains in the grease molecules, so it is easy for ozone to react with these now smaller molecules. UV-lamps 6x39W in the UV-frame. Full realisation of the process requires at least two seconds of ozone time, so the exhaust ductwork must be sufficiently long. Extra ozone created during the process turns back into oxygen. It is dangerous to look at blue ultraviolet light without safety glasses. Never look directly at the light source for more than three seconds without safety glasses. UV filter units are always delivered with a pressure sensor, which ensures that the exhaust fan is running when ozone is created. This prevents ozone from leaking into the kitchen if for any reason the exhaust fan stops. Deliveries always include a UV touch screen, which is used to turn the unit on and off Instructions Installation instructions with switch diagrams as well as maintenance and usage instructions are always delivered to the workplace in the main delivery. The UV frame and its lamps are easy to install and maintain.
