NEW CARLISLE, OHIO
From the Pastor’s Desk
Dear Parishioners,
You will see a new face around Sacred Heart: Father Ariel
Pico Rinon, “Padre Ariel” is from the country of
Colombia. He has had many pastoral assignments
including working with college students, family life
ministry and the Divine Mercy. Father Ariel has been
assigned by Archbishop Schnurr to care for the needs of
the Spanish speaking Catholics in the Greater Dayton area.
Here at Sacred Heart, we have about 200 Latino families.
St. Mary's in Dayton has at least 800 families. Father will
be living by St. Mary's and will travel to New Carlisle to
assist me and our new pastor care for the needs of our
Spanish speaking parishioners. Be sure to give Fr. Ariel
that warm, small town welcome which is the signature of
Sacred Heart Parish.
Sincerely yours in the Lord,
Fr. Hummel

Frassati Group Meets on Monday Evenings
This is a ministry aimed at connecting young adults
(college-age and post-college) and providing a place to
encourage each other and grow in the knowledge of our
faith.
Frassati groups, named for Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati,
have been formed across the country with the hope of
inspiring young people to a life of radical holiness and
service. We are a fairly new group at Sacred Heart, but we
have a passion to serve and grow in the faith with the
young people in the area. We are planning activities,
especially outdoor activities, to go along with our planned
weekly get together. We meet on Monday nights at the
Rectory from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Contact Alan
Mostrom at 859-553-3068 or alan.mostrom@gmail.com
for more information.

Second Collection for Gift to Honor Father Hummel
Many parishioners have contacted the office staff about a
going away gift to honor Father Hummel in appreciation
for all the wonderful gifts he has given our parish.
Therefore, we will have a second collection next weekend
and again on the following weekend (May 22 & 23) to
provide an opportunity for anyone who wants to make a
donation to our group gift for Father.
We offer prayers and sympathy to the family and friends of
Stella Brown, who passed away on April 23. Stella was a
member of Sacred Heart for over 60 years. She was the
music director and organist at Sacred Heart for many years.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord.

Mensaje de Nuestro Parroco
Verdadera Adoracion
Queridos feligreses,
Ustedes verán una nueva cara aquí en
Sagrado Corazón: la del padre Ariel Pico
Rinon, “padre Ariel”es del pais de
Colombia.
Él ha tenido muchos
asignamientos pastorales incluyendo el
trabajar con estudiantes de colegio,
ministros de vida familiar y La Divina
Misericordia. Padre Ariel ha sido asignado
por el Arzobispo Schnurr para que cuide de
las necesidades de los cátolicos de habla
hispana en el area de Dayton y sus
alrededores. Aquí en Sagrado Corazón
tenemos por lo menos unas 200 familias
Latinas. La iglesia de Santa Maria en
Dayton tiene por lo menos unas 800
familias Latinas. El padre vivirá en Santa
Maria y vendra aquí a New Carlisle para
asistirme a mí y a nuestro nuevo pastor en
cuidar de las necesidades de nuestros
feligreses de habla hispana. Asegurense de
darle la calurosa vienvenida, de un pueblo
pequeño que es lo que nos distingue.
Sinceramente suyo en el Señor,
Padre Hummel

Mike
Schmitz, director
del Ministerio de
la Juventud y
Jóvenes Adultos
en la Diócesis de
Duluth,
nos
inspira y educa
otra vez.

Recordamos de la Santisima Virgen
por el més de mayo.
Nuestra Señora de Fátima
Empezó con la Madre de Dios,
apareciéndose seis veces a Jacinta (7
años), Francisco (9 años) y Lucia (10
años) en Fátima, Portugal, el 13 de mayo
