President’s Message For May.
Seems like summer weather – no excuse not
to bring your Model “A” out and join us on a
tour. At the last meeting, we passed around
a sign-up sheet for those planning to go on
the Mystery Tour in September. If you were
not at the meeting, and want to add your
names to the list, please let me or Sharon
Pierce know.
I would like to thank Kay Harms and Jackie
Osborne again for making the gift basket for
the NCRG Round Up.
Also, thanks to Kelly and Virginia, who are
the first to place their add in the Gra-Neva
Gram!

Article on the Tractor Tour 4/26/13 by Phil Drees
On April 26th, four Model As and three modern cars went to the town of Oregon House to Eventful
Farms to see a collection of tractors. The day was beautiful and the scenery was spectacular, wild flowers galore and everything in spring green. Eventful Acres, had been freshly mowed and simply gorgeous. We jumped onto a hay wagon and were pulled to several different stops to see and learn about
different tractors and how they contributed to farming and the raising of crops as it is done today.
Three brave souls chose to play some tractor games and Ted was actually able to balance a tractor on
a teeter-totter devise.
From Eventful Acres we went to St. Francis Lake, in the town of Dobbins, where we enjoyed a pizza
lunch. The lake was beautiful, peaceful and quiet.
Lucero Winery was our next stop just up the road from the Lake. It is a small family operated winery
and we were hosted by Marion and Dan Lucero, the owners. We were treated to some wine tasting as
well as cookies and brownies. There is nothing wrong with washing down some brownies with a little
Cabernet.
All in all it was an eventful wonderful day even if you aren’t into tractors, pizza or wine. It was such a
great day to out and about in the As
Leaders were Phil and Mary Lou Drees. The followers were: Aaron and Adler Johnson, Bill and Karen
Mitchell, Marty Clampitt, Larry and Denia Hubbard, Bob Whiting, Weldon and Irene Travis, Louise and
Ted Baerresen.
Pictures are on pages 7 and 8.
