in split components of equal duration. An hour to enjoy working at your own level.
Yoga: The gentler approach to core stability and torso training. Relieve your stress with deep relaxation
and developmental flexibility training.
Tag Zone Circuit: If you want a hard, energetic workout then look no further, this is the one for you! It’s
station hopping, speed & agility, cardio-vascular and strength training at its best.
The Over Fifties Fitness Session (T.O.F.F.S): A low impact exercise class aimed at improving and
maintaining a healthy heart, lungs and muscle tone. After your class enjoy a game of badminton with
friends, use the fitness suite or just relax in the sauna. Great camaraderie whilst you work out.
Drill Step: Dedicate and activate – reach your peak! Stepping with power for optimal results. Free
weights, resistance and floor work. Forms part of the Activities Mornings.
Activities Morning: Excellent value, choice of five activities including: drill step workout, use of Physique
Fitness Suite, badminton, squash and sauna. Crèche facility available.

Teignbridge Leisure Centres has over 40 different exercise classes for all ages and levels running
across the four centres: Newton Abbot Leisure Centre, Dawlish Leisure Centre, Broadmeadow
Sports Centre and Ashmoor Recreation Centre.
Newton Abbot Leisure Centre has benefited from a £3 million refurbishment and now offers
a new Physique Fitness Suite with air conditioning and state-of-the art fitness equipment.
Our friendly and qualified staff will be delighted to assist you and answer any questions you may

Aeroblitz: Total body workout – after the warm up you’ll be ready for the 20 minute cardio-vascular
aerobic section, then onto the 20 minute fat burning, leg, bum and thigh step workout. Finish off with a
body toning/conditioning routine to tone and sculpt.
Aquacise: Low impact and gentle water based aerobic exercises to music. Very sociable and a great way
to keep fit and tone up; less stressful on the joints than floor based aerobic activities.
Activity Club: An excellent value multi-activity session, which includes a circuit-based keep fit session,
badminton, table tennis and more.

elements of traditional Caribbean dance styles. It has its
roots in Cuba and Puerto Rico but extends to Columbia, New York, Los Angeles and The Far
East. It is popular because it combines global appeal with local expression.

AquaFit: Aerobics in the pool! Water based exercise that takes place at chest height depth.
A non-weight bearing form of exercise means that it is less stressful on the joints than floor
based exercise.
Prime Life Aerobics: A gentle, low impact class that focuses on
general fitness and keeping you supple.
Teen Step Aerobics: An introduction to step aerobics. This fun cardio
workout helps to improve fitness, co-ordination, and posture.
Step Aerobics: High / Low impact routines designed around a raised
platform. Suitable for beginners or the more advanced. You decide
how hard you work. Step aerobics can help to burn calories, tone
and improve co-ordination.
Aerotone: 30 minutes of aerobics followed by 30 minutes of
conditioning and toning with light weights, adaptable to suit all levels of experience.
Circuits: A motivating class that offers an all over workout. Move between varying pieces of
equipment that incorporate aerobic, endurance, toning and conditioning exercises. A fun
and social class!
Body Pump®: A 45 – 60 minute class that aims to combine high repetition adjustable
weight training with aerobic conditioning. An ideal way to burn fat and improve endurance,
strength and well being.
Pilates: Pilates is a low impact class to exercise the body and mind. Key elements of the
course involve improving balance, stability, co-ordination and posture. An excellent class
for general fitness, body awareness and ease of movement.
Body Balance®: A low impact class that invigorates and tones,
releasing tight, tense muscles. The yoga based stretch programme
encourages controlled breathing, concentration, flexibility and
strength. Recommended for everyone, irrespective of age and
fitness abilities.

20-20-20 Step, Aerobics and Tone: 20 minutes of each type of
exercise aims to help with toning up, losing weight , building muscle and improving core
stability and co-ordination. Choose how hard you work, suitable for all ages and abilities.
Body Combat®: A fresh and exciting workout, which combines self – defence principles in
an adrenaline pumping routine! No one-on-one contact involved just an all over all-body
intense cardiovascular workout. A truly empowering and fun way to challenge your body!
Body Step®: A programme designed around an adjustable step. It’s a simple yet effective
high-energy workout to music. Included in the benefits of the class are muscle toning,
calorie burning and lower body muscle definition.
Pre School Spingers: A dance class for children from 3 years to school age. This is a great
way to introduce children to dance in an atmosphere of friendly fun and enjoyment. The
class is structured to develop each child’s range of movements, muscle tone, co-ordination,
balance and musicality.
Jazz Fit: A unique combination of a jazz class combined with a fitness routine. Anyone
from 16 – 75 is welcome to come along! A great way to tone up sagging muscle and get
into shape whilst having fun! This class is intended for regular rather than occasional
attenders in order to build on knowledge week by week.
Adult Tap: A class for anybody aged 14-70! Tap is fun to learn and the class can help to
improve balance and general levels of fitness. This class is intended for regular rather than
