Heavy rainfall began early on Sunday, 13th September involving at the start the Liguria Region then
early in the Monday morning, the Emilia Romagna Region. The intense rains immediately caused

The present map shows the flood damage grading in the area of Bettola (ITALY). The basic
topographic features are derived from public datasets, refined by means of visual interpretation of preevent ESRI World Imagery.
Thematic layers, assessing the delineation of the event and its grading, have been derived from postevent aerial imagery.
All images have been radiometrically enhanced.
The estimated geometric accuracy of this product is 1 m CE90 or better.
The estimated thematic accuracy of this product is 60 % or better as it is based on visual interpretation
of high resolution optical imagery.
Damage classes are assigned to buildings and roads, specifically: Destroyed (100 %), Highly damaged
(70-99 %), Moderately damaged (40-69 %), Negligible to slight damage (1-39 %).Shadowed areas are
zones of lower interpretation accuracy due to the poorer image radiometry.
Only the area enclosed by the Area of Interest has been analyzed.
