That word is “generosity”. The definition of generosity is: 1. Kindness: willingness to give money, help, or time freely 2. Nobility: nobility of character 3. Substantial size: pleasingly large size or quantity Synonyms: kindness, big-heartedness, openhandedness, unselfishness, goodness So many of you gave of your time, energy, resources, and hearts to help others this holiday season. Your generosity is so greatly appreciated. You may never know how your generosity helped another person. Holiday Dinners For Meals on Wheels This holiday season we had three local restaurants that generously opened their doors and kitchen’s to help with our Holiday Meals on Wheels. Copperstone’s, the Green Apple, and the Royal Diner all made delicious holiday dinners for our homebound seniors. Please think of these special restaurants when you dine out. Are you a 50+ woman coping with a chronic health condition such as COPD, fibromyalgia, arthritis, lupus, diabetes, chron’s, heart disease, or another health condition that impacts your life on a daily basis? Come and join with other women to learn new coping methods, share personal experiences, and insights, and offer encouragement to one another. Classes will be held on Mondays 10am-noon. A $5 donation for class supplies and $1/day to help off-set Center costs. Wood shop apprentice programs are now available. Oakland County Discounts You may be eligible to receive an Oakland County Discount Prescription Card. No enrollment form to complete or membership fee to pay. You’ll receive one card to immediately use and save an average of 20% on your prescriptions. Oakland County residents can sign up for a discount dental program – whether they have dental insurance or not. Discounts ranging from 20 –50 percent on most dental procedures for a monthly fee of $6.96 per month or $69 per year through participating dentists. February 13 & March 13 will be the coming month’s appointment. 13 Equipment Loan Closet Are you a Waterford resident or a member of the Senior Center and need temporary use of a wheelchair, walker, cane, crutches, tub bench, or commode? The Loan Closet will allow you to use the item for up to three months. There is a fee of $10 for each item borrowed. Donations are always welcome when items are returned. Used Glasses and Hearing Aids The Lions Club is collecting used eyeglasses and hearing aids. You can drop them off at the Waterford Senior Center.
