Gewaltfrei aber nicht machtlos
Nonviolent, But Not Powerless
Education using heart, intelligence and management skills
The book on the ABC parents’ license ®
ISBN 978-3-85068-891-8
size: 13.5 x 21 cm, approx. 304 pages, hardcover
How they can promote self-confidence, independence and good social skills
How they can resolve conflicts without violence, while respecting the dignity of both
parties
How love, trust and respect can flow between both sides
Practical educational advice from an expert!
"Nonviolent but not powerless!" What does this mean? Can non-violent power and
authority be maintained? And to include love and understanding? How can we bring about
what seems to be a magic trick?
This book helps deal with the widespread insecurity of many parents regarding their
parental role and authority, which can lead to feelings of helplessness and stress.
Using the image of three baskets - Freedom, Participation and Obedience - the author Maria
Neuberger-Schmidt, mother of four grown children and two stepchildren, explains to us
what really matters.
With the aid of numerous case examples from children’s lives, parents get to know various
communication tools and learn how to apply them. This serves to deepen their relationship
with their children, to promote their development and to improve their understanding of the
needs and concerns of children, who might be expressing problematic behaviour patterns.
This book will strengthen your natural parenting skills, which will go on to help your child
grow up successful and happy and lead to an authentic, stress-free and joyful family life.
From 1999 onwards the author, because of her many years of intensive work as an
educational consultant and parent coach, and as chairwoman of the association of parent
workshops based in Vienna, was in demand as a frequent columnist in various local
newspapers. Those experiences also motivated her to develop a seminar concept known as
"the ABC parents’ license ®", which has been promoted by the Austrian Ministry for
Family Affairs and protected by copyright since 2003

The Aluminium files – A Dirty Little Secret
approx. 260 pages,
ISBN: 978-3-85068-894-9

_______________________________________________
Aluminium is a fascinating metal: it’s lightweight, rust-free, and easy to work with. We drink from
aluminium cans, and use it in construction and in car manufacturing. Aluminium is one of the most
reactive chemical elements on the planet. We live in the Aluminium Age. However, aluminium also
has a dark, disturbing side, which will be studied for the first time in great detail in this book.
It would nowadays be unthinkable to have to make do without it in our daily lives. As a result of its
tremendous responsiveness, it is installed as fuel in rockets. It causes the glitter effects which are
familiar in fireworks, and it is indispensable to the automotive industry. Aluminium is especially
popular in the cosmetics industry, where it fulfills a variety of roles, depending on the particular
chemical compound it’s working with. It helps to prevent sunscreen from congealing and facilitates
its even distribution on the skin. In deodorants, it reacts with the cells of the skin and changes them
so much that they can’t produce sweat anymore. It’s not without reason that aluminium is also
used for tanning leather. Medicines for heartburn often contain a high proportion of aluminium.
Aluminium is included in two-thirds of all vaccines as an active amplifier. On the other hand, water
companies use aluminium compounds to eradicate impurities and then supply our households with
drinking water, which inevitably still contains traces of the metal.
However the findings of science bear thorough witness against the heedless use of aluminium in
these most sensitive domains of life. Biologists have known for a long time that aluminium stunts
plants’ growth by destroying their roots. Doctors working in most areas of health know about the
neurotoxic properties of most aluminium compounds: in fact, it can be fatal to a developing
nervous system. Aluminium is one of the most acute toxins for fish, and even the lowest
concentrations in water are lethal.
The book is a journey of discovery across the varied fields of life and science, and we as readers
will find ourselves speculating on how this utter recklessness is possible: Aluminium causes
serious problems in almost every stage of its development, preparation and application. It leaves
red deserts, requires enormous amounts of energy and then reaches slowly and insidiously into
the processes of life. And yet no one sounds the alarm: instead most people are seduced by the
endorsements, released at regular intervals and financed by the aluminium industry itself.
For the purposes of this investigation, Bert Ehgartner contacted all the scientists who are still
holding firm to their independent research, in the face of massive lobbying by the aluminium
industry. From his studies there arise questions of great urgency, such as:
• Is aluminium behind the huge increase in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease?
• Is aluminium the long-sought environmental factor that can explain the current growth in
allergies?
• And how dramatic are its effects on our immune systems?
The author: Bert Ehgartner, born in 1962, is a documentary filmmaker and the author of numerous
non-fiction books: most recently: "Lob der Krankheit" (In Praise of Illness) 2008, and "Gesund bis
der Arzt kommt" (Healthy until the Doctor Arrives) 2010, both published by Lübbe. This autumn, a
film will also be released to coincide with the book’s publication, both in a TV version (to be shown
on ORF, ZDF and ARTE), and in a 90 minutes long international cinema version. The producer of
the film is Kurt Langbein.

A stimulus to flick the “on” switch on a bad day
And an excellent reminder on the good days which might make them even better
Shamanic knowledge and a systematic way of thinking that’ll help activate your life
The book
The aim of this book is to turn things around, so as to enjoy life more and to achieve greater
self-responsibility, lightness and joy.
It’s often our own fault that life can seem so hard. Moth-eaten thinking, getting stuck in old
habits, the overwhelming feeling of simply being someone who’s unlucky....The world is
what you make of it!
With this fresh combination of ancient shamanic knowledge and modern systemic thinking,
the author lays out step by step not only a different way of thinking, but invites you actively
to plan the adventure that is your life.
With practical exercises for self-coaching and principles to learn by, it is possible to
identify foregone conclusions that we habitually jump to and, finally, to initiate changes.
The author
Eva Gütlinger, born 1970 in Linz, Austria, works on the development of educational and
cultural projects and as a trainer focusing on mediation, personal development and

From “Poor Thing” to a woman standing with her feet firmly on the ground

some very simple and effective ways to build up self-confidence. This requires no great
theory: just motivational instruction, which will toughen up your backbone.
This guide helps “Poor Things” with easy-to-do exercises and practical tips to discover their
true selves and take their lives actively in hand. This is achieved through the "big 5
SELVES" - self-love, self-esteem, self-confidence, self-control and self-responsibility.
The author takes the reader lovingly but firmly by the hand. Her exercise programme will
lead straight away to tangible success.

Healing Through The Middle Way
The Power of Traditional Chinese Medicine
Die Heilung der Mitte
size 13,5 x 21 cm, 400 pages,
hardcover
ISBN: 978-3-85068-864-2
First publication date: March 2011
• Explained by a practitioner of this traditional form of medicine
• How to live a healthier life through the Chinese medical model
100% life by TCM
Chinese Medicine consists of 80 per cent way of life, 10 per cent acupuncture and 10
per cent herbal medicine.
A Way Of Life means the way we live every day: how we get up in the morning, what we
eat, how we move, how we deal with our work, how we treat our fellow human beings, how
we deal with our partners, our children, our pets, what we believe, what we are afraid of,
our attitudes to illness and death and how we go to sleep at night.
Georg Weidinger looks into these important elements of our well-being, in a direct and very
readable way. None the less, or perhaps for this very reason, in this book you will go on to
learn a great deal about Chinese Medicine.
He tells the story of his experiences and lessons and of how he, as a Western general
practitioner, found his way into the heart of Chinese Medicine.
“In his book you will find countless wise pieces of advice pointing towards a healthy
lifestyle following the way of TCM and tips on how the technique can help you. And the
thing I like best is that he highlights over and over again what you can actually do for
yourself.”
Professor Getrude Kubiena
The autor
Georg Weidinger, born in 1968 in Vienna, has studied medicine and qualified as a doctor in
1995. He also then went on to study Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture and music.
Since 2002, he has run a TCM and acupuncture practice, and regularly gives lectures and
seminars and leads training courses

A 3000 km pilgrimage from Seitenstetten to Santiago de Compostela
From depression to wisdom
The book
There are many reasons to commit oneself to the Camino. However, they all focus almost
exclusively on a single common denominator: the search. A search for fresh insight, for
answers, to find solutions: in brief, for meaning in one’s life. And it’s a life crisis that often
forms the initial impetus to make a start.
The author talks openly in his book of his own life crisis. After a severe personal setback,
he fell into a downward spiral, which was having an increasing impact on his mental and
physical well-being. With the help of the “LOL²A principle” and a pilgrimage of more than
three thousand kilometres, he broke free of this spiral and rekindled his love for himself.
The author
Joseph Steigenberger was born in 1959 in Lilienfeld in Lower Austria. He grew up on a
farm along with his six brothers and sisters. After working for twenty years as an
agricultural engineer, he made a career change. He retrained as an independent economic
consultant, and has worked for the past ten years primarily in staff training. Married in 1983
and father of four children, he lives in a renovated woodsman's house in Lower Austria.

For a fuller, more colourful life through the three pillars of womanhood
The book
Being a woman is harder than ever: What good are equal rights, feminism, social justice,
and other issues, when the woman is torn between work and family life, between
partnership and the desire for self-realization?
This book will reveal step-by-step approaches across all sorts of different areas that will
help you to find yourself, to rediscover your inner fire, and to take your experience of
womanhood to whole new levels.
Through simple meditation, by learning about the medicinal herbs that grow right outside
your front door and their uses for healing body, mind and soul, and through a few basic
sample rituals, the woman’s working day develops a whole new dimension of vitality,
purpose and diversity.

Out with environmental toxins from the kitchen and bathroom, children's rooms,
living rooms and bedrooms, cellar and garden!
“I feel ill and I don’t know why.”
To be at home and between your own four walls means to be in a place of peace and
security. But this ideal of domestic happiness is in danger, because almost everything we
touch, eat or inhale is chemically polluted.
“Pollutants and environmental toxins are a threat to us, our children and grandchildren,”
experts tell us. “These hidden causes of illness will only rarely be diagnosed in the doctor’s
surgery.”
This guide uncovers the pollution that’s everywhere in our homes and gardens and explains
how ailments and diseases are caused by chemical poisons - and gives advice on how to
detoxify our homes and return to a natural, healthy lifestyle.
• The first presentation of the “four-walls syndrome”: a new everyday social disease,
which originates in areas of chemical contamination.
• A comprehensive practical guide: where the pollutants are usually found, how then to
unearth them and finally to recognize them for what they truly are.
• At a glance: The 40 most dangerous indoor pollutants and where they tend to accumulate
• 100 tips for eating, shopping and ecological housekeeping.

New thinking with heart, logic, intuition
The energy therapist Martin Weber explains the true mechanisms which take place in our
bodies, and uses many examples from his work as energy healer, lateral thinker, visionary
and energy therapist to many famous athletes, including Felix Gottwald, Michael
Walchhofer, Hermann Maier, Rainer Schönfelder, Michi Dorfmeister.
He has had numerous successes, many of which have been widely publicised in the media.
The rapid healing of bone fractures, fissured sinews, tendon ruptures and other injuries
makes him a sought-after therapist. In this book (his first) Martin Weber makes it clear that
medicine alone cannot lead to real healing and that the body has to be tuned like a fine
instrument, especially after injuries and operations.
Martin Weber was born in 1945. After his initial career as a technician he began to work as
a massage therapist. During his job in a rehabilitation center he noticed that he could feel
energy flow and energy blockages inside his patients. He has achieved remarkable healing
results and now works with many athletes and their managers from all over the world
“The message is getting home, not only to athletes. Martin Weber’s public lectures
guarantee sell-oouts…”
“Martin Weber’s philosophy that the healing process occurs not only on the body level but
also on the spiritual level is interesting to many….” Oberösterreichische Nachrichten

• Josef Werndl’s biography with comprehensive history of the “Österreichische
Waffenfabriks-Gesellschaft ÖWG”(=Austrian Arms Factory Company) in Steyr
This biography is about a man who was called “Greatest Son of Steyr”, “Father of the
Workers”, pioneer of Steyr, benefactor, but also exploiter of his workers, pure capitalist and
patriarchal entrepreneur.
Josef Werndl, born on 26th February 1831, was not only arms manufacturer, owner and major
shareholder of one of the greatest entrepreneurs of the Austria-Hunagrian monarchy.
He was also father of a large family, politician, commander of the Citizens Corps, share holder
of the Wolfsegg-Traunthaler Kohlenwerks-Gesellschaft, initiator for the production of former
high-tech products, financier of infrastructure like bridges, streets, basic realignments, builder of
one of the greatest housing estates, initiator of social services, benefactor of many kinds of
institutions…
This book describes the life of the industrialist Josef Werndl, but it also examines in detail the
history of the Austrian arms manufacturing company “Österreichische WaffenfabriksGesellschaft” (ÖWG) in the town of Steyr, which was the largest and most modern equipped
armoury in Europe during the time of Austro-Hungarian Empire.
His most important work was the creation of the Steyrer Waffenfabrik company, which can be
traced back to the fittings factory founded by his father. In 1861 the plant director Karl Holub
approached Werndl. Together they constructed a breech-loader with a standardised “waveclosure”, which went on to be a breakthrough for the Steyrer Waffenfabrik.
In April 1867 Werndl received the order to modify 50,000 infantry guns and hunting rifles using
the new Wänzl system. After long negotiations the firm became a limited company in 1869,
with the name ÖWG.

The biography of Josef Werndl, including a comprehensive history of the »Österreichische Waffenfabriks-Gesellschaft« ()

This biography gives the picture of a man, known
as »The Greatest Son of Steyr«, as »Father of the
Workers«, pioneer of Steyr, and benefactor, but
who could also be seen as an exploiter of his workers, a capitalist of the first water and as a patriarchal entrepreneur.
Hans Stögmüller, who as a journalist has intensively covered the
history of Steyr, describes Werndl as »social capitalist with liberal
spirit«. He manages to capture the essence of this great man, who
was also tall in stature, standing at six feet nine inches, or 2.06
metres in height.
Josef Werndl, born on 26th February 1831, was not only an arms
manufacturer, and owner and major shareholder in one of the
largest firms in the Austro-Hungarian Empire; he was also father
of a large family, politician, commander of the Citizens Corps,

it also examines in detail the history of the Austrian arms manufacturing company »Österreichische Waffenfabriks-Gesellschaft«
(ÖWG) in the town of Steyr, which was the largest and most
modern equipped armoury in Europe during the time of AustroHungarian Empire.
Many unknown details about Josef Werndl’s large family are uncovered, and the book also includes a comprehensive family tree.
Werndl‘s commitment to the Wolfsegg-Traunthaler Coal Plant,
his properties, his innovative involvement in the then brand-new
field of electrical engineering and his exemplary commitment to

There are more than 200 photographs of the various arms produced in the weapons factory in the Wehrgraben district of Steyr,

were ultimately exported around the world.
The appendix provides a detailed bibliography and a great deal
more data on the ÖWG’s production and exports.

Major importance for the development
of Steyr
Sensational Electrical Technology
His most important work was the creation of the Steyrer
Waffenfabrik company, which can be traced back to the
fittings factory founded by his father. In 1861 the plant director Karl Holub approached Werndl. Together they constructed a breech-loader with a standardised »wave-closure«, which went on to be a breakthrough for the Steyrer
Waffenfabrik.
In April 1867 Werndl received the order to modify 50,000
infantry guns and hunting rifles using the new Wänzl system. After long negotiations the firm became a limited
company in 1869, with the name Österreichische Waffenfabriks-Gesellschaft« (ÖWG). It was the precursor to the
STEYR-DAIMLER-PUCH-AG, and its successor companies MAN, BMW, SKF, STEYR-MANNLICHER;
STEYR-MOTORS and many others which greatly influence the economic life of Steyr to this day.
A New Upturn for Steyr
Werndl was the man who recognized the future of industrialization following on from the decline of the craft industry,
and who introduced mass production in Steyr. This led to
a huge economic boom, and, although the town’s fortunes
have risen and fallen since, it well and truly established
Steyr’s reputation as »Eisenstadt«, or Iron City.
After a short economic recovery, rifle production came to
a halt again in 1881. Werndl had to look to a new line of
production to save his factory. He found it in electrical engineering, and in 1884, the exhibition »Elektrische, LandesIndustrie-, forst- und kulturhistorische Ausstellung der
Stadt Steyr« was set up, where whole districts of Steyr were
illuminated by electric light.
There was a turn for the better for the weapons factory with
the commission of the Mannlicher rifle. Worker numbers
increased steadily and reached almost 10,000 people.
Werndl died after a short illness on 29 April 1889. He was
buried on 1st May 1889 accompanied by thousands of mourners in Steyr’s Tabor cemetery, where his grave is marked by
a grand monument. A few years later a memorial to him
was built on the Promenade in Steyr, which shows the industrial pioneer among his workers. It is the most magnificent monument ever built to an Austrian businessman.
Annual report by the ÖWG 1870
Josef Werndl at the completion of the Upper Austrian parliament‘s mandate in 1868
Josef Werndl 1864 on the occasion of a report on an extreme shortage of orders

A book for managers and employees!
Top managers just as employees can fall victim to lack of interest, stress,

- Customary behaviour which will not lead long-lasting to joy and
success in the job,
- or the easily applicable way of the Reflection Method, with many
examples.
Only when we understand and accept the love message in the unpleasant
reflection, a fundamentally turn for the better will take place, because the

The book
Many of the Hitler Youth ended up volunteering in the Volkssturm, or serving in the
Wehrmacht or the Waffen-SS. They were misguided, fanatical, eager for adventure and
trained to fight, and in 1945 they still thought they would be able to save the Greater
German Reich from its enemies.
They were seduced and shamefully abused by their Nazi rulers. Some of these young
people were still children when they reported for military duty and then combat.
However thousands of these young people then pointlessly sacrificed their lives in the final
months of the war: lives that had barely even begun.
“I was one of those volunteers, only 15 years old. What follows are not the products of my
imagination, but accounts based on my own real experiences, and which show how I saw
and felt the events at the time and how I feel about them today”….Helmut J. Kislinger
