New Year‘s Gala

by the Chamber Orchestra of Nations. The
New Year‘s Gala taking place in the big
church of Schönenberg-Kübelberg has
been a musical highlight in the region for
years. Musical, operetta, pop and classical
songs will take turns. In addition to professional soloists also the young singers of the
choir will come to the fore. The acoustics of
the church adds to the festive concert.

About 150,000 daffodils bloom around the
lake at that time of the year and turn the
shores at the Ohmbach Lake into a sea of
blossoms. The trail around the lake is unhampered by barriers and recommended

The Sickingen May Market offers on all
market days a diversified program for all
visitors of the fairground. Amusement
rides of all kinds, as well as raffles, snack
bars and various culinary enjoyments,
stuff market at the Lothar-Sander-Platz in
front of the civic center and more awaits
the guests from near and far.
The marathon takes place on the certified
“Hinkelstein“ hiking trail. Participants will
have to master 42 km in length and 700
meters in altitude. The route leads along
untouched forest trails, fields and past
historical boundary stones, quaint ponds,
charming landscapes and breathtaking
views such as the Donnersberg mountain.
Besides the marathon distance a half marathon of 22.5 km will be offered as well.

Cherry Blossom at Kohlbach Valley
30,000 cherry trees bloom on the hillsides
between Dittweiler and Frohnhofen. It is
the best time for a hike on the Kirschenland
(cherry country) hiking trail, one of three
trails of the “Begehbares Geschichtsbuch“
(accessible history book) .

Local restaurants and wine taverns will be
offering culinary delicacies throughout the
old part of town. You can sample wines from
the Zellertal and the Nahe region. Enjoy the
varied entertaining program, including a
cultural night on Friday, a children‘s run on
Saturday and an organ concert as well as a
"glow worm parade". Sunday starts with a
morning matinee in the Schlossgarten, afterwards vendors will be providing a large
offer of goods and the fairground will feature many booths and fun rides for adults
and children. A closing fireworks takes
place on Monday.

Zellertaler Sattelfest
Zellertal Bike Trail between Marnheim and Monsheim

The circular route of 30 km offers appropriate requirements for families
and pleasure cyclists. Off the road traffic participants can safely enjoy the
wonderful landscape of the Zellertal valley and the culinary delights of the
region. Access is possible at any village or town along the Zellertal bike
trail. Participants can also cycle along a certain part of the trail and take
the train back to the starting point. Parking is available in the towns and
villages along the trail.
On this September weekend the market square in the center of Ramstein
will turn into a fairground with rides and all sorts of booths selling sweets
and a wide range of food and beverages. The official start of the hustle and
bustle at the fairground will be the tapping of a barrel of beer on Saturday
afternoon. Sunday afternoon the traditional raising of the fair pole will
take place in front of the museum (Miesenbacher Strasse 1) accompanied
by speeches and music.
