Mr. Stefan Halusa, President of Brose Korea Ltd., elected new President of KGCCI
The 34th Annual General Meeting of the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held on
April 28th, 2015.
At the meeting, Mr. Stefan Halusa, President and Representative Director of German automotive supplier
Brose Korea Ltd., was elected as new President of KGCCI. Mr. Halusa, prior to his new assignment as KGCCI
President, has been working in his capacity as President of Brose Korea for four years and has served as
member of the KGCCI board for two years. He succeeds Mr. Thomas Geyer, President of Vector Korea, who
served as KGCCI President from April 2013 to April 2015.
Mr. Kim Tae-Hyung, Executive Vice President of GS Global Corp., was elected as Vice President and Mr.
Ludwig Feuchtmeyer, CFO of Continental Automotive Electronics, was elected as the new KGCCI Treasurer.
KGCCI members also elected five new Korean board members: Mr. Kyu-Moon Ahn, President and CEO of
Miele Korea, Mr. Ki Young Bae, President & CEO of The Class Hyosung Corp., Mr. Dai Woo Han, Senior
Advisor at Bae, Kim & Lee, Mr. Haedong Kim, Managing Director of B. Braun Korea, and Mr. Dohyon Kim,
Vice President Global Public Affairs Group of Samsung Electronics.
As new German board members, Mr. Bernd Gehlen, CFO of BASF Korea, Mr. Torsten Kessler, Vice President of
Deutsche Bank AG Seoul Branch, Mr. Dirk van Niekerk, President & CEO of Boehringer Ingelheim Korea, Dr.
Frank Schaefers, President of Robert Bosch Korea, and Mr. Johannes Thammer, Managing Director of Audi
Volkswagen Korea, were elected.
Upon his election Mr. Halusa thanked the KGCCI team for their successful work in 2014 and pledged to do
his best to support both KGCCI and Korean-German business cooperation.
KGCCI congratulates Mr. Halusa and all new and reelected board members in their new capacities and is
looking forward to a good and fruitful cooperation.
Furthermore, KGCCI thanks Mr. Geyer, President of Vector Korea for his work as KGCCI President throughout
the past two years, and Mr. Hae-Hyeong Cho, Chairman & CEO of Nara Holdings Corporation who has
served as KGCCI Chairman since April 2002. Our gratitude also goes to all other parting board members for
their effort in supporting KGCCI in its mission to foster trade and investment between Germany and Korea.

Konsumklima verbessert sich
Das koreanische Konsumklima verbessert sich allmählich. Laut der Bank of Korea ist der Konsumklimaindex
(CCSI) im April gegenüber dem Vormonat um drei Punkte auf 104 gestiegen. Positiv auf das Konsumklima hat
sich unter anderem der auf 2.150 Punkte angestiegene Aktienindex ausgewirkt. (Korea Economic Daily, 27.

Wagniskapital-Investitionen um 30% zugenommen
Investitionen von Wagniskapitalgesellschaften erhöhten sich im ersten Quartal 2015 im Vorjahresvergleich
um 29,2% auf 358,2 Mrd. Won (ca. 326 Mio. USD). Im Mittelpunkt der Investitionen stand die IKT-Industrie

Samsung Electronics: Gewinnsteigerung bei Smartphones
Samsung Electronics erhöhte seinen Geschäftsgewinn im Smartphonebereich im ersten Quartal gegenüber
dem Vorjahresquartal kräftig um 38% auf 2,7 Bill. Won (ca. 2,5 Mrd. USD). Das gute Ergebnis ist vor allem
dem neuen Modell Galaxy S6 zu verdanken. (Korea Economic Daily, 27. April 2015)
SK Innovation: Kapazitätsausbau für Elektroauto-Batterien
SK Innovation wird noch in der ersten Jahreshälfte 2015 die Produktionskapazität seiner Herstellungsanlage
für Elektroauto-Batterien in der Stadt Seosan verdoppeln. Nach dem geplanten Ausbau sollen jährlich
Batterien für 30.000 Elektroautos hergestellt werden. (Korea Economic Daily, 28. April 2015)
Mando: Verkauf von Elektrofahrrädern in Europa
Mando, Halla Group hat mit dem deutschen Verkaufsunternehmen ETG einen Liefervertrag für das
Elektrofahrrad-Modell Mando Footloose IM unterzeichnet. ETG wird die Mando-Fahrräder in 25
Verkaufsstellen in Europa anbieten. (Maeil Business Newspaper, 28. April 2015)
S-Oil: Starker Gewinnanstieg
Das Ölunternehmen S-Oil erwirtschaftete im ersten Quartal 2015 mit einem Anstieg von 407,3% gegenüber
der Vorjahrsperiode einen Geschäftsgewinn von 238,1 Mrd. Won (ca. 216 Mio. USD). Der sprunghafte Anstieg
beruht vor allem auf dem niedrigen Ölpreisniveau und der damit einhergehenden gestiegenen Nachfrage.
