Pre-K4 students must be in class by 8:30 AM. Patton Campus By Car: To enter the schoolyard, vehicles must access school grounds through Constance St. via Nashville lakebound. Do not enter the carpool line from Magazine St. onto Nashville or Eleonore Street to Constance. Following this practice will ensure that no traffic ever backs up onto Nashville to Magazine Street. Parents are expected to be courteous and follow the protocol. Drop off begins at 7:50 AM and ends at 8:10 AM. The gates open at 3:45 PM (2:45 PM Wednesdays) and close at 4:00 PM (3:00 PM Wednesdays) for pick up. At the beginning of the year, families will be given a carpool placard to place on their dashboards. By Foot: Parents can walk their children to the black gate leading to the Kindergarten playground on State Street. The gate opens at 7:50 AM and closes at 8:10 AM. Parents can pick up beginning at 3:45 PM (2:45 PM Wednesdays). The gate closes at 4:00 PM (3:00 PM Wednesdays). Tardy Students/Late Pick Up: Enter through the red doors on Patton Street and check in at the front desk. The student will be given a tardy slip. Any children remaining after pick up ends will be sent to After Care and the drop-in rate will be charged to parents. For maps, visit www.lfno.org/pick up-drop off/ 4 Rideshares and carpools Lycée Français de la Nouvelle-Orléans serves all of Louisiana. Students come from all over the state. Breakfast at the Claiborne campus is served during the school day. Bids for 2015-2016 food vendors are pending. Historically, the cost of one meal has been approximately $3.25. The price of reduced meals has been $0.40. Applications for the federal free or reduced lunch program will be distributed at Meet & Greet on Thursday August 13, 2015. Fresh fruit and water are available to students throughout the day. Parents may provide school-approved snacks, which will be listed in the 2015-2016 Student Parent Handbook. The 2015-2016 Handbook will be made available at the beginning of the school year. However, parents can review the 2014-2015 Handbook at http://www.lfno.org/handbook-forms/. Meal-related questions may be directed to Jessie Cameron at restolycee@lfno.org. 8 Supplies Consumable fees cover the costs of student supplies that must be imported from France. We've worked hard to get the cost down to a more reasonable amount for our families. The consumable fees are $95.00 per student, and invoices were sent home in May and June. One of the ways we were able to lower the cost of the consumable fees was to ask parents to purchase locally those student supplies that are available locally. Supply lists are now scheduled to be released in late June/early July and will also be available on our website under “Parents.” 9 Uniforms: Pre-K4 & Kindergarten Uniform vendors are French Toast and Schiro’s. French Toast: www.frenchtoast.com (online only) Schiro’s: http://www.schiros.com/public/lycee-francais.html 4948 W. Esplanade Ave., Metairie, LA, 70006, (504) 885-2993 Students in Pre-K and Kindergarten will wear the smocked dress and bloomers from Schiro's or the navy shorts/pants with the red or white monogrammed shirt. The smock will only be available from Schiro’s. Knits, pants and shorts are available from both providers. Shirts do not need to be tucked in, but belts must be worn with pants that have belt loops. As for shoes, any color tennis shoe (but no tennis shoes that light up or make noise, and no boots, sandals, crocs, etc.). Socks and tights are solid blue, black, or white. On cold days, jackets of any color may be worn. Saints Days: Students are encouraged to show their support for the Saints through special dress. T-shirts, jerseys, and black and gold clothing are allowed on certain days. Our general rule of thumb for games this season is that we permit special dress on Fridays for weekend games. For Monday night games the special dress day is Monday. 10 Uniforms: First – Fifth Grade Uniform vendors are French Toast and Schiro’s.
