LIFT TO CHURCH-Many of you will know Edith who usually sits at the front of
church with her carer. Edith hasn't been to church for some weeks now and, on
making enquiries, I have discovered that this is because of a lack of personnel to
bring her. If anyone would be willing to transport Edith to and from church on a
regular or occasional basis then please have a word with me. Thanks. Philip
CAR PARKING- Some local residents have complained that they are unable to
park near their homes because of church events. As these are public roads. not
much can be done, but I promised to pass on the complaint and ask that people
are considerate when parking by not blocking property access etc.
CAP money course—CAP are holding a series of courses to help with budgeting
and managing finances. They are free to attend and will be held on Tuesday
afternoons and evenings during October. If you are interested, please see the
notice board for details.
Rainbow Trust -We have received an appeal from the Rainbow Trust Children's
Charity. They are asking that people make use of the extra hour gained when the
clocks go back on 26th October by baking and selling cakes that day in aid of their
charity. For further details, take a look at their website: www.rainbowtrust.org.uk
CHRISTMAS FAIR-The Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday 29th November.
If you would like to have a stall at the fair, please see Janet Vidler to book a place.
Bookings should be made as soon as possible but no later than 2nd November.
If you can help in any way at the Christmas fair, please see any PCC member
or Warden. Thanks
JAM JARS- Many thanks to those who responded to the appeal for jam jars for
use at the Christmas Fair. We now have more than enough so don't need any
more, thank you.
NEW SEEKERS - You are all invited to a Bring and Share lunch after the
service today- it will be hosted by the New Seekers group who have been reading
the Bible through since January 1st and are now three quarters of the way into this
wonderful book. This could be an opportunity for any of you who want to know
more about our journey through God's Word and maybe consider doing it yourself
next year. For further information please contact Joyce Hansell (0161 338 5602).
CALL MY BLUFF WINE CHALLENGE- There is to be a ‘Call my bluff’ wine
challenge on Saturday 1st November 7.00pm for 7.30pm start.
The cost is £8 which includes wine tasting and supper. There is a list on the
notice board in the lounge if you would like to reserve a place. Book early to
avoid disappointment! Ask Alicia for further details.
I LOVE STALYBRIDGE—thanks to everyone who took part in the clean
up yesterday.
Fair Trade Advent Calendars— Order your special advent calendars
today. Yes, it is only October but this is one thing you can tick off the list!
These contain fair trade chocolate which helps the farmers get a better
deal from their crops, as well as depicting the real Christmas story.
There is a list in the lounge for anyone who would like to place an order.
CHURCH DIARIES- Have you bought your diary for 2015? We now
have available the much sought after St George's Diaries for the
