In Genesis 14 we encounter Lot who chose to go to the plain of Sodom and Abraham takes off in the other direction. 5 Kings come and defeat Sodom and take everything, including Lot. Abraham hears about it, takes 300 men, defeats the kings and brings all the possessions back. Upon his return he meets 2 kings – King of Sodom and the King of Salem. The King of Salem is Melchizdek, a type of Christ whom Abraham brings wine and bread – a type of covenant relationship and in turn he blesses Abraham. When you make a decision that your source is God and everything that you own belongs to God then you will truly experience a blessing from the Lord. (To be continued…) Something to think about. We are 5 weeks away from Operation Christmas Child Collection Week. Our goal for 2014 is 300 shoeboxes. It is so exciting to touch the lives of children all over the world. What a blessing to be able to fill a box and send it off with God’s blessings. It is amazing how God uses these shoeboxes to bless children and aid in the advancement of His Kingdom through the booklet “The Greatest Journey”. Filling a box is easy! 1. Choose a boy or girl and an age category. 2. Fill shoebox with toys, school supplies, clothes, wrapped candy and hygiene items (no chocolate, no liquids) 3. Place a label on the box, put a rubber band around the box and bring the box into the church. Pray about how many children you want to bless and let’s start bringing our boxes in… So far we have 1. . .only 299 left. We can do this people! Thank you for coming!
