Merciful God, we confess that we have not followed your ways
or trusted your promises. We love only those who love us; we
show kindness only to those who are kind to us; we give only
when we expect to receive. Forgive us, Lord. Fill our hearts
with your selfless love. Change our lives by your matchless

If you’re looking for something different to nurture your spiritual life, stop
in at Siesta Key Chapel for a Jazz Vespers on November 13, at 7:00 p.m.
Vespers, sometimes called evensong, is one of the most ancient devotional
offices of the Christian tradition, begun in the second century as an evening
service of prayers, scripture, songs and meditation, usually at sunset, to
give thanks for the day and prepare for rest. Three local musicians have
arranged a servic e of modal and cool jazz music as a setting for the
contemplative mood of vespers, with unique arrangement of traditional
hymns. Susie Wills discovered jazz vespers in Richmond, VA while
attending seminary and was inspired to bring this gift to Siesta Key Chapel
were she has served as a pastoral intern.
Movie Night will tak e place November 18. The Straight Story, starring
Richard Farnsworth and Sissy Spacek, chronicles a man’s patient odyssey
by tractor to mend his relationship with an ill brother. Doors open at 6:45
in Fellowship Hall. Movie begins at 7 sharp. Free popcorn and soda.
Come and enjoy the film and discussion. Bring a friend!!
CAROLING, CAROLING... Saturday evening, November 29, the
congregation is invited to participate in the singing of carols at Light
Up the Village! (In Siesta Village) The group will meet at 6:30 p.m.
in the choir room to obtain music and warm-up their voices, then we
will car pool to the village to carol We look forward to seeing you
there with bells on!
The Advent Dinner & Tree Decorating
event will take place November 30, at 5:00
pm. The evening begins in Fellowship Hall,
caroling and tree decorating follow in the
Sanctuary. The meal is a pot-luck. Please
bring the following if your last name begins

IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND THE DINNER,
COME AT 6:00 TO TRIM THE TREE AND SING CAROLS.
Each year the Salvation Army depends on us to
bring smiles and holiday cheer to disadvantaged
children and senior citizens through their "Angel
Tree Program". You may choose a tag for any
age and then have fun purchasing their "desired
wishes".
Please pick up your Angel Tag on the deck under
the Angel Tree. All gifts are to be returned
(unwrapped) to the Chapel, by December 14, and placed under the
Christmas Tree in the sanctuary. They will be distributed by the Salvation
Army elves. It’s the “Most Wonderful Time of the Year”, unless you are
alone or forgotten.
