SURVEY FOR THE LAITY
In October 2014, the Synod of Bishops met in Rome on the topic of The Pastoral Challenges of the Family in
the Context of Evangelization. The final report of this Synod, entitled Relatio Synodi, was issued in December. Pope Francis indicated that it would serve as the preparatory document or Lineamenta for the October
2015 XIV General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, which will address, The Vocation and Mission of the
Family in the Church and Contemporary World.
The Lineamenta concludes with a series of questions proposed for reflection by all members of the Church in
preparation for the upcoming Synod. A summary of these questions has been prepared at the direction of
Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha for lay members of the Fall River Diocese to offer input. To participate in this consultation, please click the link: Survey for Laity, located on the Diocesan web site or directly at the link:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1-y_nl9yDyqmyG3JiFVoliFyc8PZpJVeU-DAXPIy
Responses will be forwarded to the Diocesan Faith Formation Office for compilation and submission to the
U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. All responses are anonymous and must be submitted by March 13.
