Please pray for the Elective Assembly and nomination process for the new bishop of Natal. WEEK OF PRAYER FOR RENEWAL Monday 18th May : Thirsting for God (Psalm 63:1-5) “O God, you are my God, I seek You, my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for You, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.” (Ps 63:1) We thirst for so many things. We can find ourselves seeking meaning in all the wrong places, in relationships, pleasure, work, power, status, possessions. After years of desperate excesses, St Augustine eventually realized the futility of such a search. Only in the Lord did he find what he needed. “our hearts are restless,” he wrote, “until we find our rest in You.” PRAYER We know, God that you alone are our source of meaning and fulfillment. Help us always to thirst for You, for we know Your Spirit will quench every thirst. Amen.
