Wed., April 8 Fri., April 10 Find & Secure an Internship 4pm – 5pm Creating a Great Resume & Cover Letter 3pm – 4pm Learn about finding different types of internship opportunities, develop strategies for effective networking, and leave with key resources and techniques for securing an internship of your own! Tues., April 7 resume 2pm - 4pm Career Services Courtyard employers are here to check your résumés in preparation for the upcoming Spring Fair. Bring a hard copy of your résumé and take advantage of the valuable feedback from experienced professionals in leading industries! Thur., April 9 The resume and cover letter are often the key to getting an interview. We’ll walk you through the process of effectively writing these documents, including style, format, and targeting. Mon., April 13 Use LinkedIn to Jumpstart Your Career 4pm – 5pm CRR@ Career Learn how to professionally follow-up with recruiters! LinkedIn is the professional version of Facebook–create a profile and learn how to begin the networking that will get you a job! Winning Job Search Strategies 12pm – 1pm This program will present ideas, resources, and techniques important to conducting a successful job search. For instance, researching and targeting employers, professional networking, and implementing a thorough online and in person search. Get An Early Entrance Pass From Career Network Like a Pro -hosted by Young’s Market Co. 5pm – 6pm Stick around after resume+ to learn how to impress recruiters at the career fair and at other networking events! All workshops meet in Room 1109 unless stated otherwise The Early Admission period is a sure fire way to impress employers. Remember, you must have a pass from Career to get in from 10am to 11am. Resume+ is a great way to get your pass, but you can also get one just by having your résumé critiqued during the weeks prior in the CRR. Early admission is for students who meet the following 3 requirements: 1 You have your recently critiqued résumé and pass from: resume+ or drop-in hours at CRR. 2 You are professionally dressed. 3 You have researched potential employers in attendance, demonstrating your preparedness for a job.
