ST. XAVIER’S SR. SEC. SCHOOL, Bhagwan Das Road, JAIPUR – 302 001 OFFICE OF THE PRINCIPAL April 27, 2015 GENERAL CIRCULAR NO. 1 : 2015 –16 Dear Parents/Guardians, Season’s Greetings! We have completed yet another successful academic year without much difficulty and the school reopened on 1st April, 2015 for the new Academic Year 2015-16. A number of activities have taken place in the school since the reopening and I would like to apprise you of the forthcoming activities. First of all I welcome all the newly admitted students of Std. I. We hope most of them, if not all, will be with us for the next 12 years. Best wishes to them. The Xavier’s family expresses its profound grief at the demise of our beloved Bro. Geo Pulickal, S.J. on February 5, 2015, who served St. Xavier’s School and College, Jaipur as Vice Principal and Mr. P.K. Saxena, our Hindi teacher, on 19th March, 2015. We pray to God Almighty to give their souls eternal peace. Staff Changes: Mr. Vineet Bansal has joined the school as PGT English on 1st April, 2015 in place Mr. Samuel Johnson, who retired from service on March 31, 2015 on superannuation. We thank Mr. Johnson for his sincere and dedicated service rendered to the institution. Mrs. Shikha Srivastava has joined as Hindi teacher in the primary section, in place of Mrs. Saroj Nautiyal, who has been shifted to the senior school as TGT Hindi in place of Mr. P.K. Saxena. We welcome the new teachers to the Xavier Family and hope that their association with us will be beneficial both to the institution and to themselves. Administrative Changes Mr. R.S. Rana, Director Physical Education & Sports, has been given the additional responsibility as the new Vice Principal. He will be in-charge of the discipline and Sports activities of the Senior School. New academic session for Classes IX to XI commenced on Thursday, April 9, 2015. The allotment of streams for the +2 courses was based on the grades obtained by them in the examinations of Std. IX, X and the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT). The Annual Prize Distribution: The Annual Day will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. The function will be held in the Junior School Assembly ground. The high achievers of the last academic year will be awarded during this function. Fr. Edward Oliviera, Principal, St. Anselm’s Pink City School, Malviya Nagar, Jaipur has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest on this occasion. Educational & Cultural Exchange Program in Sri Lanka & Copenhagen: A group of seven students along with Mrs. Manjuka Barua visited Sri Lanka from April 15 to April 25, 2015. Similarly, a group of forty students of class XII & X accompanied by Fr. Principal and four other teachers will be leaving on May 05, 2015 to Copenhagen, Denmark for the annual exchange program. Besides Denmark, they will also visit Brussels in Belgium, Amsterdam in Netherlands and Paris in France. They will return on May 18, 2015. We wish them all the best. Summer holidays will begin from Saturday, May 16, 2015 and the school will reopen on Wednesday, July 01, 2015. During summer holidays a number of activities will be going on in the school. There will be intensive coaching camps for Swimming, Basketball, Football, Tennis, Table Tennis, Squash, Badminton, Shooting, Snooker, Gym, Volleyball, Cricket and Skating. An Art Camp will be organized during the vacations wherein Drawing, Painting and Calligraphy will be taught. Those keen on joining the Art Camp may get the forms and other details from Mr. Melven Castelino or Mr. Nadeem. Please encourage your ward to make the maximum use of the various facilities available in the school. Our school at Nevta was inaugurated on April 06, 2015 in the presence of a huge gathering of students, parents and the well-wishers. Most Rev. Oswald Lewis, Bishop of Jaipur, blessed the school building and Fr. Varkey Perekkatt, S.J., Provincial, Delhi Jesuit Province presided over the function. The program went off extremely well. The Xavier family expresses its sincere gratitude to all of you for the cooperation and support. It is only through the sustained and continued cooperation between the parents and the school that we can make the learning experience more fruitful. I thank each one of you for the cooperation and support that you have extended to the institution on various occasions and I hope you will continue to extend the same cooperation and support in the days ahead.
