2013 Show Descriptions
Welcome to Paducah! Hello everyone and welcome to Paducah, home of the Quilt Channel. This year we proudly celebrate the 23rd Anniversary of the Quilt Channel. It seems like only yesterday it was just an idea. Thanks to the AQS, the encouragement of our viewers, and the support of our generous sponsors, we’ve been able to provide quilt related programming to our visitors and area residents for 23 years. We’ve seen so many changes in the quilting industry since we first went on the air. We’ve also met thousands of wonderful quiltmakers and visitors. Every year we are amazed at the creativity and inspiration displayed at the AQS quilt show. Again this year we are proud to present 5 days of high quality, quilt related programming to the visitors of the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Show and Contest. If you have an interest in quilting, you’ll love watching the Quilt Channel. Within the pages of this guide you will find descriptions of the programs we are offering, and the times they are available for viewing. You may also keep up with us through our website www. This episode introduces the audience to the brave new world of the American quilt, where that question has many different answers. Episode 2: Quilts Bring History Alive Explore the quilt’s unique ability to preserve, not only our own family histories, but the history of America beyond the reach of memory. Episode 4: What is Art?
