REVITALIZING THE COMMUNITY Century Savings Bank believes in progress through partnerships. One of the best ways for us to succeed is to help our community flourish as well. Our ‘random acts of kindness’ campaign was such a hit last year that we decided to keep it going. Not only does the Bank offer discount coupons for our business customers’ products and services, we also offer free pizza, fruits and vegetables, and other items at our business customers’ locations and at our branches to help them build traffic and generate sales. In partnership with Banscher Farms of Gloucester County, Century promoted Jersey Fresh and Grown Locally initiatives in support of the local farming community by hosting its second annual Farm Fresh Barbeque at our Gibbstown location. The ‘kindness’ campaign has been highly effective in showing the deep connection between our local bank and the local business community. It’s a first-rate illustration of our Community Banking Plus branding and has proven itself to be a successful two-way business generator. Sponsoring vital special events that encourage tourism to the area is another way Century has chosen to invest in the community and its revitalization. Since 2009 Century Savings Bank has been pleased to act as the Presenting and Primary Sponsor of the Bridgeton Invitational Semi-Pro Baseball Tournament, a 2-week event that brings hundreds of visitors to the area each night. The Invitational, now in its 45th year, acts in a non-profit capacity raising monies to benefit various youth organizations in the Bridgeton area, including the Police Athletic League, Bridgeton Babe Ruth Baseball League, Cumberland Midget Football League, Miss NJ Literacy Program, and the Herb Henry Youth Basketball League. Many of the children benefiting from these programs are from low- and moderate-income families. This partnership provides the needed financial support to ensure the continuation of the Delaware Bay Days festival – a free, family-oriented festival that attracts up to 15,000 people to the township each year to celebrate the history, culture and environment of the Delaware Bayshore region – as well as to defray costs associated with its public sails on New Jersey’s Tall Ship, the AJ Meerwald. This $12,000 donation further demonstrated our continued commitment to our brand, Community Banking Plus, which enables us to give back to our communities and support organizations such as Bayshore Discovery Project that benefit the entire area and allow for continued exploration of the natural resources of the Delaware Estuary and the coastal waters of New Jersey. This year, Century was excited to assist the Vineland Downtown Improvement District and Main Street Vineland as sponsor of the 4th Annual Vineland Seafood Festival. The event welcomes thousands of area residents to downtown Vineland’s shopping district with delicious food, live music, and an incredible man-made beach right on Landis Avenue. The “beach bash” is good fun for the whole family and acts as an outstanding traffic building opportunity for local restaurants, fresh food vendors, and avenue businesses. centurysb.com
