This is the seventeenth edition of Lisman News: our magazine
which appears in no less than 12 languages. Once again we have
lots of internal transport news for you!
CEMAT IS UPON US
A NEW NAME

AND A NEW WEBSITE
Lisman has had a branch in Malaysia called
Lisman Forklifts Asia for the past two years.
So we’re now at the point where we’ll start
using the single, universal name of our
umbrella company.
This spring is all about the CeMAT trade show, which takes place once
every three years. The most important international fair for material
handling, 19 - 23 May, attracts visitors from all over the world to
Hannover. It’s the stage where all the industry’s leading players can
present themselves. Lisman is of course prominently attending!
CeMAT is the perfect opportunity for us to speak with suppliers and
customers at our lovely stand in Hall 025, number H21. As well as having
plenty of room for a relaxed chat with you in person, we’ll also be happy
to share our news. And we’d like you to visit us so much that we’ll have a
lovely gift there waiting for you. You’ll be able to enjoy it straight away!
LOTS OF NEWS ABOUT OUR COMPANY
We also pay attention to other interesting affairs in this issue of Lisman
News. Our regular features ‘Behind the scenes on our production line’
and ‘The Lisman DNA’ look at less well-known aspects of our business
processes. We also inform you about the modification of our Sales department. And you can read about the worthy cause that we’ve supported on your behalf - a nice Lisman tradition - too.
NEW WEBSITE, NEW DOMAIN
To cap it all off, there’s a taster of the new website we’ve just
launched. And we tell you about an important development for us:
our companies Lisman Vorkheftrucks and Lisman Forklifts Asia,
which are continuing to operate individually, are now also becoming
part of a parent holding company: Lisman Forklifts Group NV.
This name represents exactly what we stand for - also internationally
- and will therefore be given a prominent role in our communications.
We’re therefore also choosing to use a single international domain
name from now on: lismanforklifts.com.
Lisman Forklifts Asia will have its own editorial section in Lisman
News. This edition therefore has an insert with information about latest
developments at our branch in Malaysia, which has now been performing excellently for two years. We hope you enjoy reading it, and look
forward to meeting you at CeMAT!

RELIABLE RECORD OF THE CONDITION
In previous editions of Lisman News you’ve been able to read
what happens to a second-hand machine before it’s ready for
sale. Then it’s time for a professional photo shoot. Trained
photographers provide a reliable recording of the machine’s
condition.
WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET
Lisman thinks transparency in the proposition is extremely
important, which is why we’re happy to give you as complete
a picture as possible of every machine we have in stock. We’ve
standardized our photography process so that you can easily
compare various options. Our machines are all pictured using
the same perspective and lighting conditions. You can view
them from any angle - 360 degrees! We also take pictures of the
batteries on all electric machines and the operating consoles on
all forklifts and larger warehouse equipment. All these high resolution images are available on our website. Judge the quality

The 2000 machines we have in stock are located in our four
facilities in the Netherlands and Malaysia. But you can use our

stock, from all angles, wherever you are, at any time. So you
no longer even need to come and visit us. Although you are of
course always very welcome!

A new name and a new website:

After almost half a century, Lisman Vorkheftrucks
is a very well-known name in the international
world of forklift trucks. But the company name only
appeals mainly to Dutch-speaking contacts: the
word ‘vorkheftrucks’ is of course not internationally
understood. And for the past two years Lisman
has a branch in Malaysia which, because of its
international market, is called Lisman Forklifts
Asia. So now we’ve got to the point where we
want to use the single, universal name in all our
communications, Lisman Forklifts, as part of
our parent organization: Lisman Forklifts Group
NV. You will continue to do business with the
familiar companies, Lisman Vorkheftrucks in the
Netherlands, and Lisman Forklifts Asia in Malaysia.

‘Keeping things simple’ is part of our corporate philosophy.
That’s why Lisman Vorkheftrucks and Lisman Forklifts Asia are
becoming part of a parent organization with a crystal-clear name:
Lisman Forklifts Group NV. There is of course no better moment
to launch a new name than at an international trade show which
only takes place once every three years. That’s why we’re intro­
ducing the new name, Lisman Forklifts, together with a completely
new website and domain name, lismanforklifts.com, at CeMAT.
Lisman will be demonstrating the new website at the CeMAT
trade show, so you can familiarize yourself with the various
new functions. You’ll be able to get up to speed with our new
site very quickly and easily once you’re back at home.

search profile up to date very easily so that you always receive

still navigate through our global stock of over 2000 machines
in the same way as before. And you can also select products by
location: we have more than 1600 machines in stock at Lisman
Vorkheftrucks in the Netherlands, and over 400 machines at
Lisman Forklifts Asia in Malaysia.

What’s the secret to a successful company?
It is of course its power to innovate; having
the courage and ability to take new directions,
preferably before others do. An innovative
company such as ours also provides a challenging
workplace for its employees, who in turn
can come up with new ideas.
FORKLIFTS TRUCKS
From small to very large (lifting capacity from
500 kg to 60 tons. Internal Combustion (petrol/
LPG and diesel) or electric power. All global
brands, both European and Japanese. And always
with the reliable Lisman quality guarantee.
OFFERING ADDED VALUE
There have been lots of innovations on
the product side of the material handling equipment
market: forklift trucks running on hydrogen fuel cells,
electric machines with lithium-ion batteries and automatic
guided applications, so machines can do their work in warehouses increasingly without needing a driver. But as a trader
in second-hand equipment, we define innovation differently.
We’re more concerned with recognizing market trends and
requirements and offering added value. This is where our
competitive advantage originated. And have been continuing
doing so successfully for almost 50 years already.
WHOLESALE DEVELOPMENT
GLOBAL MARKET PLAYER
In the ‘70s, Lisman invested in a gigantic IBM computer.
We were the only forklift truck wholesaler to have a system we
could use to send personalized communications to forklift truck
dealers all over the world. In the ‘80s, we led the way when we
agreed an exclusive contract with a university that provided
European accredited safety inspections on imported machines.
In the ‘90s, Lisman took up a niche position. The purchasing
model changed and the focus shifted from free traders in material
handling equipment to manufacturers and distributors. The commercialization of complete fleets of second-hand machines meant
we became the buying partner for the major original equipment
manufacturers. Our secret: we didn’t join in the competition
for selling spare parts and we didn’t sell machines to end users.
Activities which we do not explore until today.
At the start of 2000 we once again pursued a radical innovation:
setting up our production line. This enabled us to benefit from
the need for added value to second-hand equipment. Our
production line still guarantees unique transparency in our
proposition to this day. The most revolutionary step we have
taken over the past few years is of course the setting up of
Lisman Forklifts Asia. Our Malaysian subsidiary company
bridges the gap between Europe and the Asian continent.
It means we rightly become a multinational in the field of secondhand material handling equipment. And we can promise you this
already: it doesn’t end here for Lisman Forklifts. We are very
excited by our new plans and are full of ambition to serve you
even better, wherever you are, now and in the future!

You will find everything you need to know about material handling
in Hannover from Monday 19th to Friday 23rd May 2014. Our
stand will be manned all week long by employees who will be

refurbished at the same time as the functional
organization was updated. This photo shows the

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT TEAM
The success of our dealing room proved itself a long time ago:
our sales representatives can consult with each other on the
spot about sales opportunities for unique machines in various
countries. The open-plan layout in our sales area contributes
significantly to team-building and a good working atmosphere.
The sales floor was recently given a facelift. Sales Manager
Sjaak den Dunnen chose a new design: a chain of desks manned
by twelve ‘sales canons’, collectively speaking ten different
languages. The new sales table is very spacious, so every
employee has a good workspace and can have optimal contact
with colleagues. This ensures the new sales area is enjoyable
to work in and supports delivering good results.
The functional organization has also been updated at the same
time. It goes without saying that our Business Development
Team is also very busy taking its part around the sales table.
This team has now been given its own department representative alongside the one for the Sales Team responsible for the
traditional markets. The Business Development Team is led by
one of our very experienced employees, Loris Scarpa. In short:
our sales department new style is ready to be of service to you!

It’s a nice tradition of Lisman’s to support charity in
the name of its customers around the festive season.
This is a new style of promotional gift which fits in

At the end of 2013 we decided to offer our support to the
Philippines, a country having to cope with a massive natural
disaster. Tragic images of hundreds of thousands of people
who were made homeless appeared on television every day.
The camera crews have already moved on, but lots of aid
is still needed in the Philippines for rebuilding. Lisman
donated 10,000 euro to the Foundation of Cooperating Aid
Organizations’ aid plan, partly in your name.
