Saturday, September 13, 2014 9:00 am – 4:00 pm Michels Materials Quarry Tullar Road - Neenah In Northern and Central Wisconsin “Quarry Quest” has become one of the most acknowledged and popular family events. Quarry Quest is an exciting family outing and fundraiser held at Michels Materials limestone quarry. The event gives children and adults a one-of-a-kind opportunity to tour a working quarry, ride and explore giant excavation machinery, and participate in a host of fun, hands-on educational activities. Work the controls of a giant backhoe or loader, ride above the quarry in a boom lift, become a miner for the day and prospect for fool's gold and various colored gemstones, make your own jewelry, or mix up a batch of concrete cakes. Ticket Prices (gate): $10.00 / adult - 13 & older $8.00 / youth - 3-12 years FREE - children 0-2 years Save $3.00 each on advance ticket prices (sale ends 9/12/14) For tickets, information and parking visit us online at www.quarryquest.com Swim Team (Ages 6-18) Swim Team is a great source of after school fun! Swimmers are placed in groups based on age and experience. The fall/winter season begins September 29th and practices are offered in the evenings at the Appleton Y, Neenah/Menasha Y, and Lawrence University. A no cost two week trial period is offered. Youth 5K Run Training (Ages 8-13) Tuesdays 4:15-5:00 PM • September 9th-October 21st 7 week training program structured to help youth cross the finish line of a 5K. Class includes coach-guided weekly training sessions along with workout plans for the remainder of the week. Class will be held outdoors, weather-permitting. Also included is free entry into the Freaky 5K on October 25, 2014. Cost: Y member - $35 General Public - $50 Annual Freaky 5K Run/Walk & Mini Monster Dash A fun event for the entire family! 5K Run/walk, Costume contest, games, inflatables, Mini Monster Dash Kids Run, music, prizes, refreshments and much more! Saturday, October 25th at 8:00 am at Pierce Park in Appleton. For more information and entry fees: www.ymcafoxcities.org The Appleton East High School Varsity dancers will be holding a dance clinic. All participants will receive dance instruction, a t-shirt and a snack. WHEN: October 4; 1:00 pm-5:00 pm WHERE: East High School WHO: Students in grades K-6 COST: $20.00 The routine learned will be performed at the Appleton East varsity football game on October 10th. The boys will learn basketball skills, play in games and weekend tournaments, and get to work with the high school coaches at clinics. Classes meet after school at Horace Mann Middle School in Neenah and Jefferson Elementary School in Menasha. The program consists of 10 weekly 1/2 hour group lessons after school. Whether you want to compete, exercise or just want some equine therapy, we can teach it. Meadowood Farm provides a safe, comfortable, non-judgmental learning enrironment for riders of all ages and accommodates all levels of riders’ experience in a large, heated, indoor arena. You’re invited to a special class devoted to FOCUS in the Classroom. Students will learn some fun kicks and new tricks to develop concentration in and out of the classroom.
