Board Recruitment
Information Package
Why sport matters…
The Conference Board of Canada Survey, which collected data from 2,006 Canadians,
revealed that sport significantly strengthens Canada’s economy, sport provides a
route to health when combined with other aspects of a healthy lifestyle, and sport is a
valuable means of obtaining social and psychological skills (Conference Board of
Canada, 2005).
Through sport participation, kids learn valuable lessons such as friendship, leadership,
cooperation and team play. These lessons are integral to the development of a child’s
self-esteem and sense of worth.
KidSport Mission
To remove the financial barriers
that prevent some young people
from participating in sport.
“Nothing we could ever do could repay you for what KidSport
has been able to give me and my children”
-Parent

#1 Reason to get involved
Testimonial Received February 4, 2010:
Just a short email to send KidSport a great big "Thank you". KidSport sponsored my
daughter, Carolyn, so she was able to play indoor soccer during the 2009-2010 season. The
season is winding down and I must say that my daughter who had never played indoor
soccer before totally enjoyed herself. Without your help I do not think it would have been
possible for her to play. We make our living by cattle farming and after the draught this
year with no pasture and trying to buy feed for our cattle for the winter it has been a
financially strapped year and trying to recover from our costs is going to take some time.
So, thank you KidSport, our daughter had a wonderful indoor soccer season and we greatly
appreciate your funding and to all of the people and organizations who donate to your
organization to make dreams possible.
Sincerely, Anita
