The Showdown is always one of the favorite events during the festival. There are 10 participants in the Showdown, each of them have been through several auditions along the way before being selected as a finalist for tonight’s HI-99 Country Showdown. Tonight’s winner will receive a prize of $1,000 and the opportunity to move on to the state competition.. Boxer’s ages 8 - 34 from all over the country will compete in this exciting "Rumble at the River”. Look for the Sweatbox Gym located in the South end of the park by the large fountain. NEW WAVE PRO-WRESTLING JUNE 4 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm Bringing a new wave to the world of independent pro Wrestling, features top Indy Wrestling talent and exciting family-friendly entertainment to the area. Look for the New Wave Pro Wrestling located in the South end of the park by the large fountain. The Music doesn’t end after the Showdown HI-99 will have a FREE concert … so just hang around and enjoy some more great County Music! Among the many activities is the large LCD –flat screen with a pop up regulation basket ball hoop attached on the back, a database sweepstakes Kiosk, as well as other elements for fans to interact with including the popular Pacer Prize Wheel where participants can enhance both their literacy and basketball skills while winning Pacer Prizes. Monday, May 30 Carnival Opens at 2:00 pm Festival Open 3:00 pm -10:00 pm If you enjoy and appreciate good jazz music you will want to attend the concert this evening featuring Terre Haute North and Terre Haute South Jazz Bands. You will be entertained and impressed by these young talented students and their music. Terre Haute’s own Don Morris has been playing music since he heard the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show as a young boy and begged his mother for a guitar and lessons. This has played out well for us we have been able to enjoy his talent for all the years since. “I will always play my guitar and sing a song.” Don Morris. GARRETT BIGGS & THE HIGHWAY 40 BAND 5:00 pm -7:00 pm Garrett is a country singer songwriter. Garrett’s sound is unique and seems to always grab his listener’s by the ear. The band plays upbeat cover tunes to softer tunes and some of Garrett’s very own music RICK MONROE 7:30 pm -9:30 pm Rick Monroe’s “Great Minds Drink Alike” the 3rd single from his E.P.” It’s A Love Thing” hit the Bill Board top 50. Rick has performed all over the United States and has received great accolades from “Music Row”,”One Stop Country” and “East Bay Express”. Come enjoy some great Country music. The Lemon Brother’s Band is a rockin’ young band from the Wabash Valley . They play with a lot of groove and enthusiasm. These guys have been playing music since the young age of 4. The Meek Sisters play Blues, Country and Classic Rock. They have opened for Joe Diffie and David Fanning. They also have appeared on the Main Stage of the Indiana State Fair. The Meek Sisters were the 2014 Hi-99 Country Showdown winners.
