Strasburg Rail Road Company
Strasburg Rail Road Company NEARS 2014 Fall Conference SRC - America’s Oldest Railroad • Incorporated in 1832, the Strasburg Rail Road Company (SRC) is America’s oldest short line railroad. • From its inception, the railroad has served the surrounding communities with affordable rail transport. • SRC specialties include railcar-to-truck transfer of grains, bulk feed additives, dry fertilizers and bedding. The railroad is also able to handle bulk transfers from truck-to-railcar. Our team tracks feature a loading dock, grain conveyor pad spots and a six-car liquid transfer rack. A public scale is just minutes from our terminal. SRC’s Presence in Lancaster Co. • SRC is located in Lancaster County and serves as a vital link for business in the “Southern End” of the county. Expanding Freight Rail Service Yard improvements by SRC, including extensive access paving, improve volume traffic flow for our customers. SRC is continuously pursuing transport opportunities with potential new customers. If you asked our customers, they would say the reason they are shipping with SRC is because we have taken the time to get to know their business and their transportation needs. Growth Opportunities Transportation logistics has been compared to a log-rolling contest. There is no inherent stability except for what the shipper and the short line railroad create together for their own sanity. Here’s the bottom line: Your business is here; you cannot go anywhere else. The short line shares the same challenge. The Elephant in the Roo Thank you for your time and consideration Stephen S.
