strengths of these associations.
Recently in March 2016, top achievers
and JOB Challenge winners were sent
to the ERA International Business
Conference 2016, held in Orlando,
USA. ERA is the only real estate
agency in Singapore that offers
salespersons the opportunities to
attend international conferences.
Kevin Lim, Top International Broker,
who attended for two consecutive
years, says, “The conference continues
to evolve in its program with a global
perspective. The trip also provided
opportunities to engage the
management team and bond during
team building activities and travelling. I
will definitely encourage all aspiring
salespersons to join next year.”
In addition, the conference had a wide
variety of seminars on business,
leadership and ICT (Information and
Communications Technology). Ryner
Koh reflects, “It was an eye-opener
and I gained refreshing ideas of
prospecting and learnt to integrate
various social media platforms to
increase productivity. Further, the
opportunities to network with
salespersons internationally offer
potential business collaborations in
future.”

Bouquet for a
property agent

Melissa Tan, Senior Marketing Director at ERA, was
commended in CEA’s newsletter as two of Melissa's
clients wrote to CEA recently in praise of her outstanding
service. Commending Melissa for her initiative and energy,
Mr Hales, a condo seller said, "I never got any feeling that
I had to 'push' her to get things done or to update me."
Another client Mr Kwan, seller and landlord of a condo unit
in the east also shared how Melissa went out of her way to
facilitate tenant-related matters on his behalf. "Melissa is
honest with her opinion and advice, and does not
over-promise. Her approach to my rental and sale was
very satisfactory, time-efficient, and the end result beyond
my expectation. Her effort to step out of her line of
responsibilities as a property agent to help a client is a
bonus."
When asked what drives her passion in delighting her clients,
Melissa quipped, "A common goal between my customer and
myself gives me a sense of purpose. Their recognition of my
work would be the icing on the cake!”
She stands guided by a Zig Ziglar quote, "If people like you,
they'll listen to you. But if they trust you, they'll do business
with you." Her parting statement to any customer that she
meets for the first time is always this - "Take the time you need
to find an agent you are comfortable with."
"Customers do not always come back to me, but those who do,
are wonderful ones."
As part of the ERA Extra Mile Program, 500 ERA Points had
been credited to Melissa’s account as well.

The seminar was a truly inspirational and heartfelt sharing
session by our Guest Speakers (Ivan Lee, Marisa Zhang and
Evelyn Wang), on how they managed to turn their lives around
to reach the pinnacle of success. Held at HDB Hub Convention
Centre Auditorium, all ERA and External Guest Real Estate
Salespersons discovered secrets to overcome life's challenges
and fulfil their fullest potential.

Kavin Kuah

Remembering four years ago when Kavin Kuah decided to forego his tertiary education even though he had
secured a place in a local university, he would have had taken a loan if he went to finance his studies. Instead,
Kavin ventured into real estate as his first career. He chose ERA because of its strong local branding.
With no business contacts after completing his national service, he had no choice but to hit the pavement and
went from door to door in HDB estates. His hard work paid off to provide for his family a better life. He reflects,
“I chose to be a real estate professional, as this career promises no income ceiling. The only limit to your
income is the ones that you create.”
Today, Kavin is consistently ranked among ERA Realty’s top agents and his initial circumstances keeps him
grounded and humble. Further, he is thankful to be in the position to lend a helping hand to families with special
housing needs.
ST JOBS EXPRESS 2016

It was a fruitful weekend for recruitment as ERA
experienced a huge turnout at Suntec Singapore
Convention & Exhibition Centre. ERA was a Co-sponsor
for the event and ERA agents helped jobseekers to realize
their potential in the real estate industry over the
weekend. ERA has been actively participating in
recruitment fairs since 2006. Hundreds of interested
applicants were inspired by ERA’s salespersons’
successful career in the industry and registered for
Success Seminars following the job fair.
Senior Vice President, Corp Marketing & Training, Mr.
Kenny Tan, was a speaker for the seminar programmes
and he gave a speech about the readiness to enter real
estate market. He rallied the crowd through the topic
close to every person’s heart; on pursuing passion or a
high paying job.
He advised aspiring professionals on how to climb the
corporate ladder by improving performance and
credibility. Here are his tips:
