Last year, I asked that you give what you did before without a second appeal in February, since that second appeal costs us about $3,000 and 80 work hours to accomplish. I am grateful that you listened and our pledges were very close to our goal of $145,000 and equaled the total of the two appeals. Thank you. This year I ask that you once again make a pledge now and not wait, so we can move through this quickly. We lose people if I talk about money too much, so please make a pledge if you have not before and if you have, please make another this year. If we go over, we get a refund; if we’re under we have to make it up. My personal pledge is $2,000, since my goal is to cover the cost of my education. Thank you for your generous cooperation! Have a Blessed Week! Your Gifts Help Meet Challenges As we know, life is filled with blessings as well as challenges. When one doesn't have any emergency funds set aside, the St. Vincent de Paul Society can help keep these challenges from becoming devastating. Last week, Vincentians purchased bus passes so that a single mother could transport her son to Rosecrance to get his needed medications. Vincentians also met with a woman who asked for nonperishable food that she and her brother could eat as they moved away from an abusive situation, traveling to a new community for a fresh start. Bus passes, food, seemingly simple things that make a world of difference to those in need. Thank you for making these blessings possible. "She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy." Prov 31:20 Let’s Play Ball! Come out and join the fun and fellowship with our Holy Apostles softball team.
