Returning to Europe, he studied architecture at the Ecole d’Architecture Paris Belleville with the architect Bernard Huet and graduated in 1999. Alongside, he developed a close relationship with the architect & scientist Pierre Debeaux, leading to a thesis and a book on the architect. De retour en Europe, il étudie à l’Ecole d’Architecture Paris Belleville, sous la direction de Bernard Huet, et obtient son diplôme d’architecte en 1999. Following the completion of his thesis, Sébastien Segers joined the office of Jean Nouvel in Paris for 2 years working on various large scale projects including the Beijing Theatre international competition and a tower in Frankfurt for which he managed the coordination of engineering. A la suite de son diplôme, Sébastien Segers intègre l’agence de Jean Nouvel à Paris et y travaille 2 ans sur différents projets de grandes ampleurs comme le concours international pour l’opéra de Pékin et une tour de bureaux à Frankfort, dont il assume la coordination technique. In 2001, Segers moved to London and joined the studio of Australian designer Marc Newson, whom he had first met in 1996. While in Newson’s office he managed projects such as the Lever House restaurant in the 1953 landmark building, and participated in the development of the interiors for the new A380 fleet for Qantas airlines. En 2001, Segers s’installe à Londres et rejoint le studio du designer australien Marc Newson, avec lequel il collabore depuis 1996. Sébastien Segers established his own office as a registered architect in Paris in 2003, and expended as a Limited company in London in 2007. He has since continued working in association with Marc Newson developing a series of architecture projects: the Hotel Puerta America in Madrid (2005), the Marie-Hélène de Taillac jewelry shop in Tokyo (2005), the Azzedine Alaïa accessory shop in Paris (2006) and the own houses of the designer in Paris and London (2006 & 2009).
