A brief history of LoveBone...In 2002, guitarist, Roy Coston and lead vocalist, Chuck Heath initially conceived LoveBone. It quickly developed a respectable following, winning over audiences and in 2004, clinched the WOUR 96.9 Battle of the Bands. The name LoveBone did not just pop up. It came from the Poison song, "I Hate Every Bone in Your Body but Mine". For various reasons, the band dissolved after a few years of playing out. Jeff met Roy several years ago and developerd an immediate friendship. In 2009, they wrote a number of originals together, but shortly after, Jeff was called upon to record, tour and promote Foghat's Blues CD, Last Train Home, and their project was shelved ...until now. Roy introduced Jeff to Chuck, and held auditions for a drummer; completing the line up with Cortland based drummer, Robbie Vormwald. LoveBone previously released several originals, as well as some select covers that will be incorporated in the new version of the band's set list. With the goal to eventually evolve into a full set of originals. The revival of LoveBone promises nothing but polished, hard edge, grinding Rock ~n~ Roll. Jeff Howell Throughout the 70ʼs, in his early teens, Jeff began his career as a regional bass player. He went on to tour the East Coast with the popular, Binghamton-based band, Acts, and soon excelled to the ranks of Savoy Brown, Foghat and southern rock legends, The Outlaws, with whom he traveled and performed all over the world. While playing for The Outlaws in the 90's, Jeff recorded 3 CDʼs. In 2010, Jeff spent the year recording and touring to promote Foghatʼs blues CD, Last Train Home. Occasionally, Jeff returns to Foghat, to fill in for their long-time bassist. Most recently, in 2015 he returned to play a few shows in Southern CA. When not touring in nationals, Jeff always has a quality band that plays regionally in the Finger Lakes and Central New York. LoveBone being the most recent. Jeff looks forward to his new endeavor with Lovebone. For full bio visit jeffhowell.org Roy Coston Lead guitarist, Roy Coston is no stranger to the Central New York music scene. He has shared the stage with many bands over the years, including Blue Oyster Cult, Saraya, Raven, Brighton Rock, Orleans, Ice Water Mansion, New York Flyers, Poison, David de Feis of Virgin Steele and Benny Mardones. Roy first appeared on the ARDENT demo, and toured extensively with the group during the mid 80's. He provided backing vocals on four songs on Raven's 1986 album, "Nothing Exceeds Like Excess, traveling the east coast, serving as their guitar tech. As the 80's came to an end, Roy joined DC Strut. It was short lived, but received major label attention, magazine, fanzine and video interest. He later formed Four Large Men and LoveBone. Chuck started his professional career as a bass player with NIGHTSHADE, but left to form his own band, Brewsed Bandit, later to be changed to Bandit. The band recorded several original songs for the Ice Productions Label and showcased in NYC for several record companies. BANDIT opened for several national recording artists, including; LA Guns, Warrior Soul, Enuff Z'nuff, Circus of Power, Tuff XYZ, War Babies, Sleaze Beeze and Benny Mardones. Piranha Brothers Productions soon took interest in the band, but nothing ever materialized, due to the break up of the band. Prior to connecting with Roy, to form LoveBone, Chuck had another band called Maddog, which toured for three years. Robbie Vormwald Robbie hails from the quaint city of Cortland, NY. As a teen, Rob watched his brother-in-law practice with his band, Hired Gun, in his father's garage. It was there that Rob taught himself how to play on the kit that was left there, by listening to none other than the great AC/DC. Other influences include Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Elf /Rainbow, Queensyrch and Metallica. In 1984, after a year or so of self-teaching, Rob started a rock band for a talent show in high school. He then placed 2nd in a Battle of the Bands and has been bitten by the Rock~n~Roll bug ever since. Rob created several bands that have done well on a local level (Jayce Raven 86-89, won best song on WDIZ fm radio in Orlando, FL. Smash Alley 90-91- headlined 1st annual IthacaFest. Castle Black 91-93, Ruination 2003-06, and Knuckle Burn 2007-14). He has shared the stage w/many national bands (The Rods, Tantric, Brand New Sin, Flaw, Mushroom Head...and the list goes on. 2013 Robbie was nominated for a Sammy for best rock drummer in Upstate NY. After having a taste of the big stages, Rob continues his quest to play in front of thousands, and "After getting a call from Jeff Howell to try out for the drummer position in this new project with Chuck Heath and Roy Coston, it was a no brainer this could be the time."
