23. A German Christmas
Sat, Dec 10th • 8:00 am- 5:00 pm • Cost $ 95.00
New Office Hours
The town of Hermann, MO has many points of interest, so
we will have a step-on guide throughout the day. Our first
stop will be the historic Hermann Museum Ein Blick in Die
Vergangenheit (A Look into the Past). We will step back
in time in this lavishly decorated historic building, which
was used as an Elementary school until 1955 and now
contains an assortment of memorabilia from the early days.
A gift shop will be available with German bakery items for
purchase. Now for lunch, we head to The Harvest Table
Restaurant where you are served your choice of meat
loaf or a bratwurst plate with both coming with sides and
dessert. Next stop is Hermann Wurst Haus where you can
experience how meat is processed and enjoy free samples
of many of their 40 varieties of brats and sausages. Then
board the motor coach for the Spirit of Christmas Concert
at Saint Martin’s Catholic Church in Starkenburg. We will
enjoy a Christmas concert at the beautiful historic Saint
Martin’s Church Museum at the Shrine of Our Lady of
Sorrows just six miles from Hermann. The church, built
in 1873 from native limestone in the area, is listed on the
National Registered of Historic Places. Mezzo-soprnao Carrie
Tilly sings holiday favorites while Joni Loehnig plays holiday
selections on the 1860 pfeffer pipe organ. The ladies from
the parish will have their country store with homemade
items for sale after the concert. What a great way to find
the true spirit of Christmas. Full payment due Oct. 15.
