The Sabah International Expo (SIE) is Sabah’s premier business fair and a State Government-sanctioned trade exposition. It is held biennially in Kota Kinabalu City, Sabah, Malaysia. SIE 2014 will be the eight since its inception. It is being jointly organized by the State Government of Sabah, the Federation of Sabah Industries (FSI) and the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MICCI) Sabah Branch. Since the inaugural event in 2000, SIE has become one of the largest and most successful trade events in BIMP-EAGA (Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines - East Asean Growth Area). The main objective of SIE is to provide a platform for exhibitors from near and far to meet; to establish business contacts; to showcase latest products and services that meet the demand of the BIMP-EAGA markets specifically and ASEAN markets broadly. To compliment the exposition, an International Business Luncheon Talk will be organized simultaneously with the exposition to enable exhibitors, business leaders, policy makers, investors, venture capitalists, CEOs and others in the surrounding region or beyond to meet; to exchange latest business ideas; to identify trade and investment opportunities; and to learn more about doing business in the BIMP-EAGA and ASEAN. The event capitalizes on Sabah being the regional hub for the BIMP-EAGA region, a grouping at sub-regional economic cooperative zone covering more than 1.6 mil. sq km, with a population of more than 61.8 mil. people. Today, FSI has more than 150 ordinary and associate members involved in plastics, food, beverages, building materials, wood, steel, hardware, electrical and electronics industries throughout Sabah. FSI is committed to help local manufacturers in general, and the small and medium industries in particular, to export their products overseas, particularly to the neighboring countries in the BIMP-EAGA region by becoming involved in business matching and overseas trade missions. FSI strives to provide quality service to the members and assist them to grow through collective efforts. Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MICCI) The Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) is an established and progressive organization representing the majority of international corporations currently operating in Malaysia. It aims to promote protect and advance free enterprise and in particular the interests of the international investment community at present and potentially involved in trade, commerce and industry in Malaysia.
