Starcke Furniture received the Small Business of the Year award and Guadalupe Regional Medical Center was named the Large Business of the Year. A record crowd turned out Sept. 28 for the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce 90th Annual Banquet, which featured Peter Holt, President and CEO of HOLT CAT, as its guest speaker. Along with the program which touched on Holt’s ‘ValuesBased Leadership,’ the banquet also was a time for Outgoing Chair John Gesick to reflect on the past Chamber year and welcome new Chair of the Board Neice Bell, publisher of the Seguin Gazette Enterprise. Gesick also enjoyed making several special awards presentations throughout the evening - Community Service Awards were presented to Paul Martin and William Squires, Special Chairman’s Award and Ambassador of the Year honors were both presented to Stanley After Hours Thursday, Oct. 21st 5 to 7 p.m. MARIACHI CHICKEN GRILL 130 S. TOURS Saturday, October 23 11 a.m. & 2 p.m. McKee Archeological Site Tours – Floyd and Jody McKee’s home is the site of an ongoing archeological excavation uncovering hundreds of arrowheads, spear points and other Native American artifacts along the banks of the Guadalupe River.
