Reservations are being accepted by phone, email and online at our website. For your convenience, we do accept credit cards. Cost is $30 per person once again. This year’s banquet, held at the old JCPenney building in the Eastgate Shopping Center, is certain to please everyone. Our guest speaker will be Hypnotist Brad Clark. He is from Platte City, MO. This year’s banquet will be catered by Hy-Vee Deli once again. They will be offering a wonderful menu including seasoned six-ounce sirloin or sweet & spicy glazed salmon, twice baked potatoes, grilled green beans, garden salad, dinner rolls, dessert, tea & coffee. Cash bar will also be available, offered by Black Silo Winery again. Small and Large Business of the Year will be honored along with two Pillars of the Community. Reservations are being accepted. Ladies, be sure to get your tickets to the annual Better Woman Conference coming up March 6 and 7. Guest speaker is ordained minister, Gretta Meeker. Guest speaker will be Loren Williamson, Senior Vice President of Project Development with MC Power. He will be speaking about the solar farm locating in Trenton. Conference will be held at First Assembly of God again this year. Friday evening and Saturday morning, ladies will be meeting in the FAC building at 6:00pm. Dinner Friday evening and breakfast Saturday morning are included in the cost of the ticket, which is $20. Battle of the Badges Doors will open one hour prior to each meal for ladies to enjoy shopping from local vendors. The 3rd annual Guns N’ Hoses Charity Basketball game is scheduled for March 6, 2015. Be at the Trenton High School gym to watch the Trenton Police Department take on the Trenton Fire Department in a game that benefits the TPD Relay for Life team “Cops for a Cure”. Tickets are $5.00 each for persons over age five (5) and are available at the door. Kids five (5) and under are admitted for free. Doors open at 6:00pm with tipoff at 6:30pm. Community Pride Week The Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring Community Pride Week again this week beginning April 27 thru May 1. This is the week Trenton residents take pride in their community and clean up yards and streets to make Trenton shine! Community Wide garage sales are being held April 25 this year. Registration forms will be available soon. Irish Splendor Trip If you have ever dreamed of visiting an old Irish castle, this is your golden opportunity! Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) Do you remember what happened or what you were doing on April 17, 1955? KTTN signed on the air for the first time!! KTTN is still broadcasting on their AM station at 1600 on the dial. They will celebrate their 60th anniversary with an open house Friday, April 17 from 10am to 2pm. Be sure to join them for cake, cookies, punch, a chamber presentation and giveaways! Listen for announcements on KTTN AM and FM. The Trenton Downtown Improvement Association (TDIA) is selling tax credits through the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP). NAP tax credits allow donors who contribute to qualified non-profit organizations in Missouri to receive 70% of their contribution back as a state tax credit. These credits can be used for up to six (6) tax periods, including the current year. Rep. Mike Lair Q&A Session Representative Mike Lair will be visiting Trenton on Monday, March 23 around 10:15 am.
