Dear Graduates,
Congratulations to all of our graduates this year. We look forward to sharing with you the excitement of new experiences.
For those of you who have completed your studies, we give thanks to God for the vocations in work to which he calls you.
Whether you remain here in Pasadena or accept a job in a distant place, we pray that you remain close to your Catholic faith.
I urge all of you who are going away to school in other places to seek out and become part of the Newman Center or on-campus
Catholic Ministry at your new school. I hope we see you at Mass when you are at home. You remain part of our community and
remain in our prayers. If you will be studying close by, we urge you to become part of our Young Adult Ministry and stay involved in the parish and with the friends you have made here. We would also love to have you become Catechists to repay in
gratitude the gifts you have received.
We invite all graduates to receive a special blessing next week at the 10:00AM and 12:00PM Sunday masses. You are welcome to
wear your robes and cap in procession before mass. Please come early.
May the Lord go before you to guide you, behind you to protect you, beneath you to support you, beside you to accompany you,
and above you to watch over you.
Fr. Joe

Queridos graduados,
Padre Joe
Pray for Peace… I recently heard a story about Prime Minister Churchill that made me think about what we need to do. The story
goes that during the bombardment of England, he gathered some people and had them commit to pray for one minute every night at the
same time no matter what they were doing. After a short time, the bombardments stopped. I would like to suggest and invite us to stop
what we are doing every night at 9:00pm and pray one minute for peace around the world. Can you imagine the crime rate drop in
Pasadena, then Houston, then Texas, the US, Mexico, and the world? Can you imagine a child making it home from school? People
talking things out instead of shooting each other? Jesus promised his presence among us whenever two or three are gathered in his name.
Let us gather in the Spirit each night at 9:00pm and pray together for one minute for peace and justice around the world.
mundo.

Find the Missal (Ordinary of the Mass) at 150 in Oramos Cantando/We Pray in Song
First Reading Prv 8:22-31
Thus says the wisdom of God: "The LORD possessed me, the beginning of his ways, the forerunner of his prodigies of
long ago; from of old I was poured forth, at the first, before the earth. When there were no depths I was brought forth,
when there were no fountains or springs of water; before the mountains were settled into place, before the hills, I was
brought forth; while as yet the earth and fields were not made, nor the first clods of the world. "When the Lord established the heavens I was there, when he marked out the vault over the face of the deep; when he made firm the skies
above, when he fixed fast the foundations of the earth; when he set for the sea its limit, so that the waters should not
transgress his command; then was I beside him as his craftsman, and I was his delight day by day, playing before him
all the while, playing on the surface of his earth; and I found delight in the human race."
Responsorial Psalm Ps 8 R. O Lord, our God, how wonderful your name in all the earth!
Second Reading 2 Rom 5:1-5
Brothers and sisters: Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus
Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith to this grace in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory
of God. Not only that, but we even boast of our afflictions, knowing that affliction produces endurance, and endurance,
proven character, and proven character, hope, and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured
out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
Gospel Jn 16:12-15
Jesus said to his disciples: "I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of
truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to
you the things that are coming. He will glorify me, because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you. Everything that the Father has is mine; for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine and declare it to you."

Primera Lectura Prov 8, 22-31
